Though the Ogden's glory days as a movie house are buried far in its past, the renovations to the historic theater have made it one of Denver's most popular mid-sized rock clubs. A careful balance has been struck between preserving the theater's past (much of its character comes from the intricate moldings that line the roof and the majestic velvet curtains that flank the stage) and updating it into the era of rock music. While there are bars on its main level and cramped balcony, the real draw at the Ogden is always whatever band graces its stage.

Terraced levels provide concertgoers with a clear view of the onstage action no matter how far back in the crowd they stand; and, depending on the size of the event, there may be tables scattered at the back end of the club for anyone who wants to take a load off their feet. On nights when a packed house is expected, the tables are packed away to make more room. Acoustically, the Ogden is one of the Mile High City's best spots, with high, vaulted ceilings that give its massive house PA the room to really kick out the noise.

    I HATED MY FIRST TIME AT THE OGDEN! We went to see Bloc party on June 13th 2007. I loved the show, but getting jammed into a small corner behind the speaker, fighting with a a couple hundred people for 1 foot of space to walk through on the stairs COMPLETELY RUINED MY EXPERIENCE SEEING BLOC PARTY FOR THE FIRST TIME. Don’t go if you’re claustrophobic!!!!
    It was hot, small, we had people touching us( and not in the good way) and i couldn’t even move because they packed us in like sardines and for a smoke free establishment I couldn’t believe the amount of smoke in the room….people were smoking EVERYWHERE! My friends that were with us said that last concert they went to wasn't this bad, but one time was enough to ruin my Expectations and i will never go back.

    My first time was awful. Got thown out for drinking in a nondesitated area. Don't serve alhcolhol if you are paranoid of getting shut down for under age drinking. I am over 21! Will never go back.

    My first time going was a terrible experience. They DENIED my valid ID saying it wasn't me when it was me...OBVIOUSLY me.
    It was a load of crap and I will NEVER go to a show there again...I probably couldn't since apparently I'm not 16...PFFFFFFFFFFFFFT SCREW THE OGDEN.

    First time I went I saw the goth fashion show, and some talent acts. I thought all of the performers were incredible.
    I look forward to going back again someday.
