For the better part of the last three decades, Bogart's has been one of the premier concert nightclubs in the Midwest. Back in the '70s when it was still a 300-seat club, Bogart's hosted early tours by the likes of Prince, the Police and U2. After a 1983 expansion, Bogart's attracted even more stellar talent, including R.E.M. and Bob Dylan. The club caters to music fans of all genres, booking talent in many diverse areas: rock, pop, reggae, jazz, punk, country and everything in between. If you're looking for a crash course in the Cincinnati music scene, this is where to come; Bogart's regularly hosts competitions for unsigned local acts and even high-school bands. Bogart's also has a tradition of admitting anyone 16 and older, so come prepared to fend off jailbait goth chicks and suburban Warped Tour fans who think moshing is still cool. Bogart's offers several full-service bars on the main floor and mezzanine, and one in the balcony area that is open on packed nights.
