Sometimes you just have to have a burger, especially if you've had a few cocktails and notice the sun is coming up. There -- off in the distance -- just off Bourbon Street -- Yo Mama's. Depending on just how many cocktails you've swallowed you may need anything from the quarter pound burger all the way up to the full one-pound sandwich. That's right -- one full pound of ground beef cooked to order and dressed to a T. You've never paid $10.50 for a burger? Chances are you've never had 61 different tequilas to choose from either, but you will here.
Meanwhile, the sober, hungry crowd also finds its way to Yo Mama's for burgers with peanut butter and bacon (really) and even those with sour cream and caviar (the ''Burger Romanoff''). Have it with chili, or ask for a burger with bleu cheese or rise above it all and have a filet mignon, baked potato and salad. With 14 burger varieties, a veal sandwich, a yellow fin tuna steak and lots of salads, everybody's filling up at Yo Mama's. Shouldn't you? -- Paul A. Greenberg

Yea Baby
The real deal, and as good as it gets. A place for locals and tourists. Keep an eye open for their crawfish specials because they are hot, spicy and ready to go.

I just came back from vacation in New Orleans, and yes I miss the cajun cooking - but what I really miss is the Burgers from Yo Momas!!! I'll be back in NOLA in April 2009 and the first place I'll be going to eat is Yo Mama's for a bacon and blue cheese burger!

What's not to love?
Burgers bigger than my head ... tasty specials like crawdads and such ... excellent bar ... TEQUILA! And upstairs at night ... woo hoo. Go there, now, and eat and drink.
Yo-Mamas...worth the walk

I had listened to my sister and bro-in lo brag brag brag about Yo-Mama for a while...finally months later I agreed to meet them there for a few libations. Finally after, literally, a 20 minute seach for a parking spot the husband found one, many blocks away. As we walked (and walked) I muttered 'the 'ritas have better be as good as my sister claims'. And yes they were (FYI Im not super easy to please when it comes to a good margarita). So a few months later the sister and I decided we were up to having a few libations;she again suggested Yo-Mama's. Hesitanty I agreed dreading the problem I knew we would face of finding a close (within 5 blocks) parking spot. This time we were a bit luckier, we found a spot only 3 blocks away, in a really dark alley. As we walked down the dark scary alley I again muttered 'these 'ritas better be good'. She assured me they would be...and again, they were. After a couple, or four, margaritas i decided i should have a bite to eat. The cook, Chad, suggested the Bull Fighter. Kudos Chad..that was the best damn burger in my history of burger eating. Needless to say the sister and I continued with the adult beverages so the nights details escape me, except for the deliciousness of that burger and teh scary walk we made to get to Yo-Mama's.
Some friends met us and wanted to take us to dinner, anywhere we wanted, the day after our wedding. We met at the Musee Conti Wax Museum;when the husband suggested Yo-Mama's not only were they surprised at our choice (they had suggested Dickie Brennan's) it was obvious the friends were not too hip on walking 'that far'. As we walked, and walked, and walked, our friend muttered 'these 'ritas and burgers better be damn good' and as always, they were.
No matter how far you must walk Yo-Mama's is worth it....besides you could always indulge in a few 'ritas which always makes the long walk back much less painful!!!
