The Port of Call burger is a common man's work of art: half a pound of fresh ground beef piled high on a comparatively small bun, augmented with lettuce, tomatoes and onions and accompanied by a buttered baked potato. The burger, which is the Port's calling card, can also be spruced up with a variety of extras, such as cheddar cheese, mushrooms and bacon. Aside from the burgers, steaks and pizzas the Port of Call folks cook up, the place also features a bustling bar serving up drinks from the classic to the ridiculous. Exotic multi-liquor and fruit drinks like Goombay Punch, Huma Huma and Neptune's Monsoon make for a delicious thirst-quencher. The bartenders here are noted for pouring cocktails that are lethal, so don't be surprised if you find yourself stumbling as you leave. -- Billy Thinnes

Best Hole in the Wall Ever!!!
The ratings are accurate in this section. Port of Call CANNOT BE MATCHED....extremely affordable....not to mention you get a baked potato with your meal....much more filling than boring fries....AND the burgers are HUGE, the shredded cheese piled high! The other stuff on the side so you can pick what you want on it. Its a very dimly lit place with an awesome jukebox with classic rock and soul music. Very New Orleans...as a local I never get tired of this place. There's a line on the weekends for a reason!!! :-)
