So all of you who have insulted the owner of "&" obvioulsly do not understand that this is not a club owner popularity contest...
By far Ampersand is the best club in New Orleans....notice I said club, not bar with dance music. If the waiting in a line to get in bothers you, if you feel $10 is too much for a drink and if you feel the crowd is snotty please do not ever venture into the club scenes of Miami, L.A. or NYC. (too bad for you Kenny's Key West has closed....)
Yes the crowds can get a bit thick but so what...
If you can not recognize the talent that spins, whether as a guest or resident, maybe you are looking for something other than what Ampersand has to offer.
Keep up the GREAT work "&".

Ampersands New Orleans

Hands down one of the best clubs I have ever been to from Texas to Florida. Not just because I am from this great state but because it was one of the top 100 bars in the US 5 years in a row! Crawling with beautiful people anytime of year, Ampersands has been home to some of the best electronic DJ's from the genres of house and break beats. Great drinks, hot bartenders, hot patrons...what more could you ask for...plus it's open til 8 am...in the other city that never sleeps. Ampersands has become a true staple of the nightlife in New Orleans..one of the first to open up after Katrina devastated the city 2 years ago and still going stronger than ever.

i went to the flirt party two weeks ago and it was soo crowded that i had to go outside very often. Plus there was something about the decor of the dance floor that threw you off. The music was okay but they were playing some sort of indian music that was just not cool.

I like this place because it has something for everyone. Friday is targeted towards a younger crowd with more hip hop and Saturdays are more dance beats. Everyone who goes is so laid back and respectful of each other. I can actually go without getting grinded from behind while on the dance floor. Decor is great and very clean. SHEEK! The bi-monthly guest DJs are always fantastic. & is often mistaken for its stuck up crowd, but i disagree. Just because it's regulars don't subject themselves to lower forms of having fun, like a classy setting, are mature, and have standards doesnt mean they all have their noses in the air. Not too L.A. for LA....just what New Orleans needed.

I couldn't really tell. After paying a fortune to get in it was so crowded i couldn't move. I turned aroung and left. Not sure if I will try again.

u have to visit this club if ever in new orleans, its an experience you'll never forget. i live in texas now but when i'm in town i never leave without going to ampersand's on a sat. night. dj trashy is off the hook!!!!!!!!

Great club, great music, great people, great setup! I loved the place. this is one of the few clubs in new orleans that i would go too. saturdays are crazy there! If your a huge techno fan, they always get a top dj to spin there monthly!!!
DEFFINTELY RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS!
