Bar Louie, a Chicago-based chain of bars and restaurants, has set up shop on the Ohio Riverfront with a new location at Newport on the Levee, the popular entertainment and dining complex just across the river from downtown Cincinnati. Bar Louie works hard at creating a hip, urban feel, from the decor -- eclectic artwork, wood-finished bar, velvet furniture, exposed brick walls; to the atmosphere -- popular music and great views of the city; to the menu -- overstuffed sandwiches, seafood, burgers, chicken, wraps and pasta; to the drinks -- trendy martinis and more than 20 draft and bottled beers. Skip the dessert: Bar Louie features dozens of martinis for your sweet tooth, like its signature Strawberry fizz -- Stoli, strawberry puree and champagne. There's also a kids menu featuring burgers, chicken fingers and noodles.

I love thi place

Me and my friends all work at local bars and restaurants and love bar louie!! The staff looks like they love working there. They remember us everytime we come and are fun people! The food is awesome and the drinks are cheap and strong! We always meet the coolest people in there. It's a great place to start or end your bar bounce in the Levee and grab a quick bite! As they are the only place with a full late night menu!

fabwayhall - 01/12/2007Do not know whats happened at this once cool place. My husband and I met some friends there this past year right around Thanksgiving. (A tradition for us for the last 4 years). It once had great atmosphere and great service. This year however, lacked all the usual "fun" characters. None of the servers or bartenders looked or acted like they were having any fun whatsoever. Food was sub-par, cocktails not the same..Oh Well, you know what 'they' say...nuthin stays the same. Too bad. This could have been the best restaurant/bar in the area. Will go elsewhere for our Annual festivities.

fabienne859 - 10/13/2005This place is the best that Cinti and N. Ky has to offer. We love it here and will keep on coming. The atmosphere is great and not just a hip "young" joint where '30 to 50 somethings' feel out of place. Its for everyone. Not all trendy bar/restaurants can claim that. Very laid back and great service. We especially love the attention paid to us by management who decided to take it upon himself to know us by name by the second or third time we came in. The food is very good . A LOT to choose from. I love bringing out of towners that visit us here. They come away feeling like they have seen the essence of the Levee !! 06/19/06
