While some Italian restaurants opt for shadowy candlelight, cluttered charm and romantic opera soundtracks, Bruschetta's embraces brightness and modern-day style. Spumoni-color shades cover the walls and high ceiling, and exposed ductwork is painted to match. Large mirrors adorn several walls, resulting in clean lines and an atmosphere of restrained elegance. Contemporary jazz plays softly from inconspicuous speakers.
All this is secondary, of course, to the aromatic meals dished up in this South Side eatery. Try the grilled sausage and polenta, vegetable risotto or focaccia pizza. Crave carbs? Create your own pasta dish from a bevy of options. Not surprsing, another standout is the restaurant's namesake item, which you can order with a variety of toppings, including the standard diced tomatoes and basil. A small bar completes the interior. In warmer weather, take that glass of wine and settle down on the brick patio.

Bad
Happy hour is a joke. It's stated 1/2 off appetizers and drinks and it's misleading. There is only a $2 discount on drinks and only 'select' appetizers are disccounted. No one tells you this until your are ready to pay your bill. Also, the RSVP card is misleading. It is supposedly not to be used during Happy Hour and no one tells you this. The charges just appear on your bill. I will not return!

I recommend this place for lunch only. their pasta specials are very good. well worth the money you spend.
Wonderful
My husband and I love this place. The atmosphere ir fabulous. It is far from your traditional Italian eateries. The food is modern take on traditional Italisn favorites. The service is always right on track. Make sure you get one of the tables with a window view or a seat on the patio for some people watching with a selection from their wine list.
our favorite Southside Stop
My wife and I have eaten here many times. The food is always good and the service can't be beat. True it might not look like your stereotypical Itailian resaurant the food will remind you quickly. Get a table near the window or out side since it is a great place to people watch.
an utter disappointment
For a restaurant named "Bruschetta's" to serve their namesake item with unmelted shreds of mozzarella on top is no less than a travesty of italian cuisine. The service was slow. There was very little sauce, the tomatoes definitely came from a can. The ambence is similar to that of the cafeteria at my college. I ate there my first week in Pittsburgh and now come to question any website that gives them a positive rating.
