Just Not Good

This food and service was so bad... I had to sign up on aol just to vent. We eat out a lot and spend good money for good food. My wife and I had a taste for steak and we live in Elmhurst but heard bad things about 100 South before but though "how bad could it be?" and we just didnt want to drive too far. Well, we screwed up and I've had better service and food at the old Pondarosa. First off, our appetiser was cold and grilled octopuss cold is pretty chewy. My bone in ribeye encrusted with blue cheese was tasteless... yes, how can blue cheese be tasteless? the wife had a petite fillet mignon that was so cold that we had to send it back to just get a burned piece of meat in return. Horrible food, poor service and it seemed that everyone who worked there just didnt care.

Terrible Experience

Our service was terrible. We ordered Raw Clams, it took almost an hour, now how long does it take to prepare RAW CLAMS? We then told our waiter to forget the clams, then he showed up with them in hand. Not 10 seconds after we started eating the clams, the manager brought out our steaks, we told him we just got our appetizer. When we finished our appetizer we then had to wait 30 minutes for the waiter to bring back our main course which by then it was cold. They did not even keep it warm. Overall; steak was excellent, service terrible, would not recommend to anyone who is looking for fine dining.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!! Wanted to plan my wife's birthday party there and contacted them on a number of occasions - even went there to set something up. They said that they would get back to us. NEVER got a phone call!!! So we decided to show up anyway. Bugs in drinks....not once, not twice, but THREE times!! And we STILL got charged for them!! Bartender was BRUSHING HER HAIR while trying to make our drinks!!! And the jerk on an owner couldn't care less as he was talking to his friends outside. As we were leaving we wanted to stress our dissatisfaction and the owner walked over to us to see what was up. He couldn't care less!! We were told that we would get a phone call to talk about the matter and never did. That was two months ago. So we just recently went over there to see what was going on and the host knew exactly who we were and said that the owner deliberately didn't choose to call us. That great customer service!!! JK. So if you want a horrible experience, go to 100 South and ask for the owner.... he treat you really well! NOT WORTH IT!!!!!

The bone in ribeye i had with the horseradish topping at 100 south was the finest cut of meat i've had in a long time .Been to gibsons ,ruth chris, none match up to there steaks.We had a great time there too with the entertainment recreation of the rat pack songs, Jonny Rome sings .
