Despite the name, Wild Country in Collinsville offers more than just Garth Brooks and the Dixie Chicks. Doing its best to look like an overly large barn, the cavernous building has a split-rail fence lining the dance floor. You'll find an abundance of cowboy boots and hats (and not only on the farm kids out for a night in the big city), but you will also find teens and twentysomethings in baseball caps and halter tops. Wannabe cowpokes can learn the two-step and other line dances on a gigantic dance floor. Other nights, a local radio station usually broadcasts live. Like all clubs, Wild Country has drink specials throughout the month, mostly on weeknights. Fridays and Saturdays country and classic rock bands perform, while Sundays are family night with the 18-and-up age restrictions lifted. -- Jennifer Dockery

    I LOVE WILD COUNTRY! I AM THERE WITH MY FIANCE' EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT FROM OPEN TO (CLOSE MOST OF THE TIME.) I AM IN A WHEELCHAIR AND ALL OF THE BOUNCERS THERE ARE REALLY HELPFUL IN MAKING SURE I CAN GET AROUND AND MAKING SURE PEOPLE ARE NOT BLOCKING A PATH FOR ME TO GET THROUGH. Y'ALL SHOULD COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. I PROMISE YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME!

    I am new to the St. Louis area. I tuned in to a local country station and heard about the country club "WILD COUNTRY" I don't know the city streets yet, or how to get to Collinsville. It really seems sad to hear a business establishment advertise "IF YOU CAN'T FIND US THEN YOU'RE TOO STUPID TO BE HERE". Pardon me, but instead of acting so stupid and childish like that, it would seem like they could make better use of the 30 seconds of the commercial by giving us the address of the country club. And parents wonder why our kids are so smart-mouthed and rude. "Wild Country" seems to be the parent of this type of talk. I LOVE country music but will not patronize an establishment that resorts to such low standards when promoting their club.

    WILD COUNTRY is the best country music and line dance club on this side of the river. CODY'S in the best on the west side of the river. WILD COUNTRY has a great atmosphere where even new people can feel comfortable, watch or learn line dancing without pressure, and enjoy country music or just relax. I go there most evenings when I need to burn off a heavy meal, purge the stress of the office, or just see some tight jean babes. You should try it too.

    I love going to Wild Country. The atmosphere there is wonderful. This is a great place to meet new people and run into old friends. The staff is friendly and always helpfull. The beer, always ice cold. See you there!
