This South Side pizza establishment is the original location for a company that now has six Chicagoland outlets and a thriving frozen pizza business. Since 1942, the company has stayed true to its original family recipe for a medium crust pizza that is now a Chicago staple. This location started as a small shop but now is a booming two-floor restaurant usually bustling with business.
The "power-hitting pizzas" include the garlic fireball, cheeseburger, barbecue, chicken fajita, tabasco chicken or grilled veggie pizzas. If you want garlic but not the full-on fireball effect, you can have one of the other options (or build your own) on a garlic butter crust for $1 extra. The pasta dishes are served with fresh bread, soup or salad.
On weekdays there's a lunch buffet of pizza, cold pasta and vegetable salads. Don't think you have to end your meal after the last slice of 'za has been wolfed down; there's also a dessert pizza for those who want to indulge.

Longstanding Favorite

I've been a "fan" of Home Run Inn since the 50's when one of the mothers of a school mate used to "sling dough" at the original bar. My friends and I use to get a little "extra" sausage on our pizzas. Home Run Inn created the deep-dish, Chicago style pizza. I was ecstatic when 4-5 years ago they started marketing their frozen pizzas up here in God's Country, aka northern Wisconsin.

spicynikii - 07/04/2008There's something in this pizza because whenever I take just one bite, I can NEVER stop eating it until my stomach is about to explode. Mmmm Homerun Inn is the best of THE best pizza in Chicago!!!!!!!!
Love their frozen single pizzas
raisinme - 07/04/2008Personally, I think that Vito & Nick's is the best, if you like a thin crust. Home Run Inn is very good, but still does not compare. I do love their frozen single pizzas though.
