buddha's been a chicago staple for 10+ years and we know why! an employee of mine's has a daughter who works there and she is wonderful! she and the rest of the staff are exceedingly accomodating and friendly and xtina knows how to make a chocolate martini better than any i know (her secret's a little almond, i can taste it). wining atmosphere and personalities is why this place has been and will be around a very long time. go see for yourself and try a chocolate martini w/ the pretty, tall one in the back ! ;-)

Funky Buddha is cool. It has good hip-hop music but the place is a little small. It's a spot to go to first and then walk to Redno, the after hour club ;-), which is right around the corner! Lillian T

I went to the Funky Buddha lounge while visiting the city...it was highly recommened by the concierge, and I wasnt really sure of why while standing outside, or even immediately after entering. But the music was great, the drinks (although expensive) were also good. We danced all night and had a really good time. I cant wait to come back!

This is one of the best bars/clubs that I have ever been to..yes, it is small but that is what makes it so intimate...never have been there solo....however, single or not you are going to have a great time or you just dont like good music and good people....everytime I return to the "Chi" this is where I will be!!!!

Extremely overcrowded and overpriced, but the worst bouncers in Chicago by far. With as crowded as it was one Saturday evening I stepped on a guys foot by accident and barely able to move I was pushed into him merely by the number of shoulders surrounding me. The guy was pssed, obviously irritated, grabbed me by the throat and slowly dragged me outside as I tried my best to get his hand off my neck. He finally ended the scuffle and let go of my throat outside. And then a bouncer let him back in the club!

Immediately I complained to management as I was scraped up and bloody, it turned out the guy typically worked there as a bouncer. Interestingly enough, he was not wearing the t-shirt that every other bouncer was, so he was certainly there on his own accord.

This incident was handled by the manager in an even worse fashion, as at the time the club was crowded wall-to-wall and there was a line outside two blocks long. They likely had more to worry about, but only wanted to state that he was a bouncer "on duty" that felt threatened. Keep in mind this bouncer was twice my size, easily 6'-6" and 300 lbs.

The incident and the way it was handled made my visit by far the worst club experience I have ever had. Easily I could have pressed charges, but there are more important things to do in this life and visiting this club again will not be one of them.

I live out of state and it still doesnt stop me from driving to Chicago. Fell in love with the city and the Funky Buddha. Everyone has their own sense of style and the buddha welcomes everyones piece of individuality. Atmosphere is awesome and caters to everyone. Djs are awesome and keep me grooving all night. Staff is friendly and every experience has been a great one. ve seen celebrites there but the best thing is Funky Buddha makes you feel like one. Bex the V.i.p. Bartender is truly a STAR bartender indeed. Watch out for her cause she will make you never wanna leave. Shes awesome and does a great job representing exactly what every club needs....unique personality. She is definately the hottest bartender in Chicago!

Just Visiting...A Pleasant Surprise

Recently in Chicago on business I was immediately directed to try The Funky Buddha. To my surprise I entered the building of this small quaint club that blew my mind away. If you like eclectic funky grooves and a even funkier laid back atmosphere then you are headed to the right place. Think Eryka Badu. This place heats up after midnight just when you are ready to get your party on. The service from the staff was great. They certainly know how to treat out of town guest. I really enjoy this place! I live in the far south suburbs and I have no beef about traveling to go there! The drinks are steep and the dance floor is small, but the crowd and vibe there is intimate and friendly. This is a great place, and I will come back again for sure!
