Charlie Trotter's restaurant is located in an elegant, residential style townhome in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. Chef Trotter's cuisine originates from the finest foodstuffs available. A network of over 90 purveyors provide the fresh, healthful ingredients that inspire him to create flavorful masterpieces. From the naturally raised meat and game, to the line-caught seafood, to the organic produce, every component of each dish is the purest available. Charlie Trotter's degustation offers three tasting menus to highlight the finest, freshest foodstuffs obtainable. Chef Trotter prefers his cuisine to be experienced in a progression of petite courses with each course laying the foundation for the next. Chef Trotter's wine list is created with Charlie's culinary philosophy in mind ? that food and wine are intended not only to complement each other, but to inspire one another, making the selection and interplay of the wine and food an integral part of the dining experience.

$850.00 later
Ok so my husband knows I'm a foodie-books the famous "Charlie Trooters"-2 menues-take it or leave it...we invited another couple as well-3 glasses of wine and dinner it was $850.00--most of what was on the 2 menus were RAW fish--if I wanted that I would have gone for Susi--SMALL portions that were not fabulous and tastless..We were still hungry after all 5 courses--and I have eaten at some 5 star resturants many times in New York & San Diego & Cinncinati--don't waste your time & money...
Add CommentWORTH EVERY $$ BEST IN TOWN

I have eaten at this restaraunt twice, once in the dining room and once in the kitchen. It is, bar none, the best eating experience ever. Walked away excessively full each time. I don't get the people who claim they walk away hungry. They must be obese. This is a true dining experience like none other and worth the extraordinarily large price. It will tantalize each of your senses like no other meal you ever had before.
Fair

This is a classic restaurant and one that always gets great reviews but I was somewhat disappointed when we dined there. The dishes from the prix-fixe menu were very ordinary and failed to wow us. We also failed to notice a veal dish on the menu and when it was served, I returned it. The server never commented or offered me a substitution. Perhaps Charlie doesn't have a conscience ? For the price they charge, they should make a better effort at informing their patrons of what they will be served that evening. We've dined at other five star restaurants and have had better food. Otherwise, the service was good and the wine selections were excellent. One nice touch at the end though, was being offered a chance to tour the kitchen. For the price they charged, I wouldn't return unless things greatly improve.
Joe Moke here
Moke would have liked this place a lot better if my hunk waiter would have come home with me! Mokie loves dotheads! And this waiter put the D in DOT! Also the food was pretty good to but Mokie could not take his eyes off the waiters arse!
