Be prepared to peruse the menu for a while at this hip Wicker Park breakfast spot offering endless choices. Though the menu seasonally changes, some favorites stick around year-round, including the lemon buttermilk and raspberry cheesecake hotcakes and apple pancakes with nuts and yogurt. Egg dishes are also popular, but watch out because the portions are enormous. Come hungry, but not too hungry, because there is always a long wait, sometimes up to two hours. If your stomach can't wait, nab one of the counter seats. Seating is tight, but not claustrophobic.

Must Go
My wife and I went to the Wabash location Saturday and the wait wasn't long at all, despite the fact that I arrived just as the Race for the Cure was ending. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great. This was only my second time coming, and the last time was 4 years ago when it was called Room 12. I'll make sure it's not another 4 before I come again!
Add CommentMy kids & I were In HEAVEN
A few years ago my kids & I took a spontaneous roadtrip to Chicago & this restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel. I was so impressed with the food, my kids still talk about how great & innovative the breakfast food was. I am coming back in a few weeks & hope the banana pancakes will be making a return to the menu! Pricy but absolutely DELICIOUS!
The best

Cannot wait to return to such a trendy and hot spot
The wait can be long but well worth itGREAT FOOD, LONG WAIT
If you have an extra hour to wait before getting in to this place on a Sunday morning, this is a great place for a really scrumptious breakfast. A little on the expensive side, but that is just a part of fine dining.
Best Eggs
I went to the Bongo Room just a few months ago and had the best eggs benedict ever! The wait was a little long, but that gave me and my friends sometime to look around at the cute shops near by. The roasted red pepper and feta eggs benedict, was well worth the wait. I wish i could eat at Bongo Room every Saturday morning.
Funky
I ate at the Bongo Room last winter and was impressed by the warm, not fussy, atmosphere. The food tasted great and was unique, not the same old breakfast, brunch stuff you get at a chain. The Bongo Room very much reflects the neighborhood it is situated in, hard to pin down to a specific type but absolutely wonderful and unique.
