  • It's not REAL chinese food!

How can it be rated as best Chinese food when it's Pan Asian Food... That's not real Chinese food!
Has our sense of taste disappeared making room for the "trendy' just because it has a Chinese sounding name?
Real Chinese food... CHINATOWN! or better yet, the "New Chinatown" of Broadway and Argyle Avenues.
Now... from one real Chinese person... That's my vote for the Best Chinese Food.

This place is AWESOME! Friendly staff, great food. For special occasions, they even make a menu for you. Try their Frozen Gingerale or Black Pepper Sea Scallops. Well worth it.

Good Pan Asian Food. Not very Chinese, Thai or Asian. Kind of like P F Chang. Go for the drinks but not the food.

Wonderful romantic restaurant with great food and an excellent drink selection. Request a booth and leave the kids at home.

If you haven't been please go. It's a great! I am not a HUGE fan of Chinese food and am very selective when it comes to authenticity. This place nails it!

  • So close, and yet so far....

Restaurateurs rip each other off all the time. And this is a rip of PF Changs. Beware when you see no "natives" in an ethnic restaurant. It is so pretentious and I've given it several tries with different groups of people. Many of the items that made the place stand out at the beginning are gone -- either yups are really far less adventurous than they imagine themselves to be...or the kitchen could just never get it right. Overpriced for what you get, service fair to slow (and not particularly knowledgeable) and while I asked for leftovers to be wrapped up, the bus boy stacked the dishes up on top of one another -- we left the bag at the table. This is what happens when you try things that you really aren't adept at -- which is a shame because some of the dishes (including the dearly departed) hearken back to the '50s and '60s when variety was the spice of life. Chinese desserts, indeed -- think yuppie Chinese, if anything. Nothing authentic here.

Why go to an imnitation Chinese restaurant if you can go to an authentic one in Chinatown? Comparing to an authentic Chinese restaurant, Ben Pao is a 2*, but to a non-Chinese one, it is a 3*. Clean restroom!
