The Harp may be appropriately positioned in Cleveland's oldest Irish neighborhood, but like the city itself, it thrives on being a little multicultural. The menu offers sizeable portions of traditional Irish fare such as corned beef boxty, fish 'n' chips and hearty shepherd's pie, but also includes a few Americanized versions of borrowed foods such as quesadillas and smoked salmon roulade. Like any good pub, the beer selection is admirable and lists the usual suspects such as Guinness Stout and Caffrey's Irish Cream Ale along with beers from Scotland, England and the U.S. (Be sure you stop by for happy hour, which runs from 3-7PM on weekdays.) But the best part about a visit here is watching the amazing sunset that lights up Lake Erie while you dine.

Ate here on a Saturday at 6pm (before catching a ball game at Jacob's field), and the patio was already almost full, but fortunatly we got the last 2-top. I'd say that the patio can seat approx. 60 people, so for that early in the evening, that says something.

Pros: great location, minutes from downtown by car, plenty of privat (and free!) parking. Really good and varied menu - more than typical "bar fare". Since it was a warm day I had a ceasr salad w/chicken, well presented and tasted great. Service was prompt, especially considering how many customers there were.

Cons: some people may not like having the traffic from the shoreway go by (when sitting on the patio), we didn't have a problem with it, and it was a pleasure to watch the boats go by on Lake Erie.

Some reviews I read on other restaurant ratings sites said that this was more of a "bar" than a restaurant - I don't agree. The bar area is off to the side and does not overwhelm the room.
The crowd that I saw was mainly middle aged, some families, so it's not what I would call a "rowdy" place.

As we left I noticed the dining room was filling up, and it looked like a place that attracts a lot of locals, and that speaks to the reliability and quality of the food and experience. I'll be back!
