Message from Williamson Bros Bar-B-Q

Country barbecue smoked up just right in Marietta.
Danny and Larry grew up helping their father, Jack cook real southern style barbecue. 1989 they brought their authentic southern style barbecue to Marietta and the rest is a well known success story. They have catered many events in Atlanta for small and large functions. They have mouth watering favorites such as ribs, pork, beef, whole hog, chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers.Visit Citysearch.com

Suburban barbecue comes with expected side of country charm.

The Scene
Faux-rustic decor and a Marietta strip-mall location uphold Williamson Brothers' family-friendly chain restaurant appeal. Diners congregate in the spacious main room or in cushioned wooden booths decorated with ranch-life memorabilia. A vintage Coke machine and soft country music complement the old-fashioned approach. The wait staff is both friendly and efficient.

The Food
Laminated menus feature such standard fare as burgers and chicken tenders, but it's the Alabama-style barbecue that pays the bills. Pork ribs, a bit more fatty than the norm, are the main attraction, slathered in the restaurant's signature sweet, smoky barbecue sauce. Barbecued chicken relies heavily on the sauce for flavor. A diverse combo platter, which lets you sample ribs and chicken, girded by tasty pulled pork and beef, is the best bet. Sides don't stack up to the entrees: crinkly fries and onion rings are bland and the Brunswick stew is too sweet.

For anyone out there who hasn't tried this delicious bbq u have no idea what you are missing... From the moment you enter the restaurant doors you are welcomed in and treated like family. The decor is perfect as well as interesting for a great family dining experience! I live in Alabama so for me it's somewhat difficult to actually be able to visit any of the 3 restaurants, so if it's not so easy for you, pick up your own personal bottle of sauce from your local grocery store! Believe me i know its not the same, but at least you can still taste their one of a kind Williamson Brothers Bar-B-Q Sauce!!! It is definately the best bbq i've ever had!

Honestly whoever says Williams Brothers Barbeque is bad, well, they don't know real barbeque. Going to Williamson's, you'll get a homie feeling, and terrific service daily. The Chicken Quesadilla's are just wonderful, and the Brunswick Stew is truly delicious. As for the another scrumptious meal, the all you can eat pork and chicken is very pleasing to a hungry appetite.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fabulous meal, and a friendly staff.

Mousie on the grill? We went here with our family, and my daughter ordered the chopped beef platter. While eating it, my daughter noticed that there was 'something' in her chopped beef that truly resembled a tiny, baby mouse. The employees took pictures of it, and said they thought it was 'probably grissle'. Well, we've never seen gristle resembling a mouse with four limbs, a head, and tiny toes.

The instance upset my daughter so badly, that we had to stop on the way home so she could throw up. She has since refused to eat any chopped meat. The restaurant didn't want us to take the 'thing' with us, but eventually the manager cut it in half and gave us part of it. We'll keep you posted on the results of the identification tests. The manager and the kitchen workers were extremely rude because we brought the problem to their attention. We did NOT receive ONE I'm sorry. No matter what the 'thing' turns out to be, we 'll NEVER touch Williamson Brothers food again.

Location: Ok, but not the greatest; off Roswell Road not far from the Big Chicken

Quality of Food: Poor; not well plated; not pleasing to see OR to eat; you won't be served any bread unless you ask for it and pay extra; salad greens are advertised as field greens, but they largely consist of bitter iceberg lettuce; salad dressing is grossly thin with a cheap taste & is served and charged by the tiny cup; greasy onion rings and soggy fries

Service: Lacking; don't expect the server to return to your table often; must flag down servers when they're needed; not cordial; lots of Mexican workers; drink refills are hard to get

Cleanliness: Very poor; premises are not well maintained; tables are not clean; floors need mopping; condiment tops are messy with dark, caked-on residue; seats are not wiped clean

Prices: Prices are very high for the quality and the amount of food provided

Value for Money: Poor; small servings

I live in NJ and every time I'm in Atlanta I visit Williamsons. Try Famous Dave's (chain).
Tail-o-the-Pup (Ray Brook NY) next to Lk Placid. When in NYC try Virgil's (W.44st.) @Times Sq.
