Right after baseball and just before Bruce Springsteen on the list of American symbols, you're bound to find the diner. Something about its carefree air, greasy comfort foods and flashing neon lights all just seems to go down really easy. Adding unique items like paella, lobster tails and chicken scarpariello to the fold, might disturb the '50s era vision of burgers and shakes for some, but to the many who frequent this Marietta landmark at all times of day, it only heightens the visit.

There are few places around I-285 where you can get a sausage and broccoli omelet at 3AM, and there are even fewer that offer homemade soups, three-story slices of cake and a hundred other menu items at the same time. But the Greek-inspired dining experience isn?t unique simply off its open-door policy. Sneak a peak at the plates waitresses are wheeling out and you see this diner?s full-stomach advocacy is pretty strong, too.

This place is outstanding! The have a huge variety of dishes to choose from! I have always had excellent service from the friendly helpful staff! I have been coming here since it was a small diner! I love the Matzi Ball soup and the deserts are to die for! The best coconut cake around! The food portions are ex-large with plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day!

  • STAY FOR DESSERT!

    Review rating : 3out of 5   BE FLY LIKE ME - 06/18/2008

I love the desserts there.. its my favorite place. Why they are not in the dessert category I dont know.. but definitely tasty and large servings.
I find some of it to be overpriced... why pay $10 for pancakes and eggs? Only thing is, its always COLD in there... bring a jacket.

    Review rating : 2out of 5   mspharm06 - 02/06/2007

This is the perfect place if you are looking for an average meal for a cheap price. The food is only ok with the exception of the seafood chowder, which is actually a few notches above average. You get what you pay for is the lesson of the day for Marietta Diner- Don't expect to get Atlanta Fish Market quality seafood with your $14.00 seafood platter from Marietta Diner!
