Chef Kevin Rathbun is nationally known for having worked with people such as Emeril Lagasse as well as guest chef stints on the Food Network and The Today Show. Locally, Rathbun is one of Atlanta's most popular culinary artists, and had a hand in creating the buzz at local favorites such as NAVA, Bluepointe , Chops and Buckhead Diner. Now, he has opened his own restaurant.

Located in Inman Park at The Stove Works, the stylish, aptly named restaurant will serve what Rathbun calls "seasonally and globally driven food." The flavors are new-American with a Southern flair. His favorite ingredient: corn. And Rathbun knows how to bring out its flavor in dishes such as his creamed white corn and Gouda cheese.

The atomosphere is modern minimalist with a warehouse/factory feel to it. The industrial style interior is warmed by painted brick walls, pottery and an open kitchen. Rathbun's is open for dinner Monday through Saturday, 5:30 to 11PM.

    Everything about Rathbun's restaurant is amazing! I had the opportunity to participate in one of the cooking classes held there and was most impressed with the staff. The menu we put together with their expertise was top notch. I highly recommend the restaurant and the cooking classes.

    This place is the best restaurant in town by far. The service is great and the food is unbelievable. Go with a group of friends and enjoy the experience.

    It was a great dining experience. Kevin sent out some appetizers which were wonderful Our service was great, the food was great, and we loved the dining experience!

    I had dinner last Friday at 10:30PM and the place was still packed inside, but our wait to be seated was short. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. In fact,all of the staff were pleasant and helpful. We were seated in the main dining room (as opposed to outside). Unfortunately, I could hear the conversation at the table next to me better than I could here my dining partner across from me at my table. All of the hard surfaces in the attractive, modernist/industrial style designed space did not allow for any sound absorption for noise reduction. This was very distracting. However, when the food arrived our need to make conversation diminished as we focused on enjoying the food. My simple salad of romaine and gruyere was crisp and flavorful. And, my main course of halibut was also nicely prepared in a light, flavorful sauce.
    I will definitely go to Rathbun's again when I'm in the mood for a "seen and be seen" atmosphere combined with good food and service.
