In Short
Talk about not having boundaries. This is like walking into a movie scene from another decade? made about another decade. Disco balls, old-school cigarette machines and cocktails served in goblet-like glasses cement the fact this dimly-lit, gaudy room isn?t like many others in our city. Gangs of the young, Buckhead set dance alongside the cut-a-rug mid-50s crowd, making it feel like a youth-invaded cougar-fest. Bouncers keep a close watch and looklike they just escaped from the mafia, strictly patrolling everything from the dress code to those sneaking drinks on the dance floor. All this seems strange when compared to the trendy bar-options in our nightlife-happy city, but Johnny?s is constantly packed. Maybe it?s throwing down with the older crowd that keeps things loose, or the wedding-reception-like excuse to dance, but for whatever reason, it?s tough not to have fun. Embrace it.

Every time I'm in Atlanta, I make it a point to go to Johhny's Hideaway. I love this place!
Add CommentA FLASH BACK ...

I am trying to remember if it was 1969 or `70, that I first went in Johnny's. Somewhere back in time anyway, but it is still GREAT! Hot wimmen, strong drinks, and good music. I been half way around the world, and to 2 county fairs, and a goat roping contest, and Johnny's is hard to beat for a good time.

warmly cheezy
in 1977, when I was 18 JH was a cool place to go.... I'm glad to see I have finally caught up to the crowd. JH is not just a bar, its an Atlanta institution.
Friendly and A Great Place to Find Romance
Friendly staff from the Valet's to the bartenders. Service is great if U can get to the bar. Getting a table can be a challenge sometimes. I have never gone without dancing or meeting some friends. I am from out of state and I stay in Atlanta just to go to Johnny's for an evening. It is a great place for meeting new people.
.
Johnny's seems to be the place where anyone (all ages) can go and enjoy a great nite of dancing with the newcomers as well as the regulars. The bartenders are great and very accommidating. They really get to know you and watch for for you. The make you feel safe there. Great place to hang and food is great also.
