Escape the mundane.

This place is as close as can be to selling happiness. The entire experience is truly a joy. You walk into a one-in-the-world environment where relaxed decor and rustic americana work perfectly well alongside a staff of energetic positive individuals. When you are there, the rest of the world seems so far away and it is this element of separation from one's day that makes it magical to go to the Yellow Dog. On entering the store, one is bombarded with the delicious aromas coming from the kitchen. This place smells so good you will develop an apetite that is soon to be satisfied by superbly fresh and tasty meals. I favor the Johny Rocket with a serving of spiral pasta salad (always perfectly al dente) or sometimes the rocket flies solo.
Best sandwiches this side of the moon. The BBQ will keep you coming too. While there pick up a bottle of their BBQ sauce. Unreal!
Quick recap: the food is amazing ,the experience a joy, the place is magical and the staff is vibrant, beautiful and responsive. WISH THERE WAS A YELLOW DOG EVERYWHERE I WENT.
One last note, I host skiers from all over the world and when they return to Orlando the first place they want to go for lunch is the yellow dog. And the second and third and fourth day as well. Whether they are from Paris or Caracas or Christchurch or Belarus the Yellow Dog is their favorite.

OPEN AGAIN ON MONDAY MAY 4TH

The Yellow dog had a fire but is now opening again on May 4th this coming monday. I stopped by to sneak a look and it is really cool . Same great decorations in the old country store..same great food and people. But it looks even better inside. They said they really look forward to seeing all the old customers and the garden out back is beautiful and full of butterfilies again.

But the owner was annoying and embarrassing. No one tells you it's counter service when you arrive so you might be sitting at a table waiting for a while til you figure it out or go ask about the nonexistent service. Then, while you wait, the owner comes out and humps married women, insults first time patrons, brags about his 'culinary' education, and generally talks loud, acts obnoxious and disturbs your meal. Other than that, it's a fun place and as I mentioned, the food is good. Without this dude's presence in the public areas, the place would be very good.

It's expensive for what it is. The food is funky and decent ... not great by any means. The help is generally rude to indifferent.

It is a super cool place and the outside area is really nice although the menu prices are inexpensive the wine is not ! Also be careful if you order the special (which to me means special price) be prepared to pay a premium price ~ if I recall my meal was $15.95 and the portion was sparse but I must admit the food was good. Next time I go back I will be sure to order from the menu and skip the wine for a reasonably priced meal.

my daughter lives in ocoee so whenever we are there we eat at yellow dog i just love the retrievers roast and the cole slaw is the best i've ever had the atmosphere is fantastic ijust love this place 5 stars

THE MOST WONDERFUL FOOD IN A GARDEN OF BUTTERFLIES AND IN AN OLD 1800'S COUNTRY STORE

This place is a movie set. Build in the 1800's according to "Fish".An unlikely name for a top Culinary Inst. of America grad. The ribs are so good you lick the juice down your fingers and arm, the place is a kick in the head inside with dogs inset in the counter (his grandmothers he said), and sandwiches that should be in a gourmet cookbook. Fish keeps everyone happy, and the evenings are packed often encluding celebs from Isleworth. The samon is some of the best i ever had .You have to have a Mexican Mutt....great!!! Take my word get there as fast as you can. My only fear is too many will find it....oh well they all ready have.
