A tiny place that has a minimalist design and maximum flavor, Lotus is a local favorite for eat-in or takeout classic Chinese food. Fresh, with ample portions, the food is savory and authentic, served albeit with no frills except a fortune cookie. They prepare the standards from fried rice to beef with broccoli and shrimp with garlic sauce. Lotus is popular with its Wilton Manors neighbors who rely on it to satisfy their hankering for speedy service and reasonable prices. Sometimes there is a wait for tables.

    Lotus used to be the best! Fresh food, great portions at terrific prices. No longer though, ever since the area became popular, especially with gay people, Lotus went down hill. Prices jumped, quality and freshness went down. Try Peking Duck house on Atlantic in Pompano....awesome!

    This was one of the worst restaurants we ever chose. The neighborhod is creepy, the customers are loud, the service was mediocre. There is more flavor at the Panda Express at the mall than in the tripe this place serves. It' s amazing that Mandarin restaurants survive in an era of a more complex palate. They have no clue about Hunan, Yushiang or Szechuan cuisine. Be afraid, be very afraid.

    Until 3 or so yrs. ago, my wife and I ate there 2-3xs a month. We took guests, recom'd. to all. We knew the owners personally. However, we have found it lately (and we gave it SEVERAL) tries, that their food has changed drastically! The meat (especially the pork was like cardboard,--then the portions had more and more vegetables. We told the owner 3 times, and she said the regular chefs were on vacation! (FOR ALMOST A YEAR?) Then, people we knew, and had eaten (and also raved about th place) started telling us th same experiences that we had! I will give ANY restaurant 1 or 2 chances, especially out of season, but NEVER after returning at different times of the year! Mr./Mrs D. Grover

    Waoo. Today Baghdad was freed and I decided to celebrate with a nice meal from Lotus... Today was my first time going there. They are very nice. I've had today some of the best chinese I've ever had. All of the Chinese restaurants I've gone taste about the same..but this one with their charismatic owners and great staff really take it up a notch. It is in a not so great area and in a not so great shopping center but you will feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Great Establishment!!!
