As is true with most barbecue joints, Jimbo's does not spend a lot of money on pricey tables and decor. The family who owns and operates this small restaurant like to focus their efforts on masterfully creating might tasty 'cue instead. Folks who have been frequenting this place for the last 30 years swear by a number of things: the barbecue cooked in a wood-burning pit, the hot apple pie with cider sauce, the crunchy hush puppies and the sides of home fries or molasses baked beans. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable making this an ideal spot for families with kids in tow. Order your selections at the counter and then eat at one of the restaurant's wooden picnic tables, or pick up your order to go at the restaurant's drive- through window. -- Amie Leavitt

Been eating at Jimbo's for at least 35 years. Love their bbq sauce the best as it is not too heavy or vinegary. Their beans and pickles are the best too. Also like having the bbq pre-chopped w/sauce already in it.
Great place to order catering take out. Owner, sons and long-serving staff are the best too...great service from all. Now that we live in Riverview, still order from their and stop by to eat when we are in the So. Tampa area. Kathy from RiverviewAdd CommentWhen in Tampa try Jimbos
Been to Jimbos a few ties over the last 6 years. Have to say the service and food quality have always been consistant and good. I enjoy the mustard slaw (on request) and the fried shrimp are real, fresh hand breaded shrimp. Just an added treat to get a combo with ribs, pork and shrimp.
Nothing special
We decided to give Jimbo's a try after reading some of the previous reviews. Nothing special and service was slow. There was only one other couple in the place at the time, so there was no excuse. You can get better barbecue sauce in a bottle!
breakfast and smoked turkey
In all honesty, I enjoy their breadfast the most and if you're having a party.....you can drop off a frozen turkey 3 days before and they'll smoke and slice it for you. It's always a crowd pleaser at the get together.
An Old Favorite for 15 years
We've eaten at Jimbo's for years and I can't say enough good things about the BBQ, homemade pickles, hush puppies (I always finagle some extra out of our waitress!) and hot apple pie- YUM!!!
best bbq i've tasted in tampa
..plus the service has always been great and the staff seems like they enjoy (ok, kinda enjoy, a job is a job!) their work. go here before going anywhere else for bbq, espescially any "chain bbq restaurants".
