Owner John Scinicariello's uncle is Mario the Baker, whose pizza shop John managed and eventually owned, but in 1997 John decided to venture down his own culinary path. His place is known for its garlic rolls smothered in butter and heady chunks of garlic -- but the pizza, of course, is the main attraction. With a New York-style thin crust, dripping with cheese and fresh-made tomato sauce, this pizza comes plain or with a variety of toppings in the meat and veggie categories.
Substantial sub sandwiches, pasta dishes, full Italian meals like eggplant and veal Parmesan, fresh salads and rich desserts are also on the menu. The atmosphere is family oriented; the walls are adorned with plaques, school posters and letters from pizza-loving kids. John is well-known for his contributions to Little League, as well as his hiring criteria -- all students on his staff must maintain a good grade point average. John the Baker is available to cater your events as well. -- Rebecca Stropoli

Best Pizza and World Famous Garlic Rolls!
If you like great Italian food at very reasonable prices, you need to take your friends or family to John the Baker! His pizza is truly the best around! Thin with a sauce that would have made my mom proud. John is about fresh ingredients and doing things the right way. If you can find a better garlic roll anywhere, then you must be in Italy. The texture and taste are perfectly combined for delectible delight. Every Tuesday a large cheese pizza for $5.99. You could feed a family of 4 for under $20.00. I have no problem paying cash when that's the average bill. John walks his restaurant to visit his customers and wants to keep each and everyone of them happy. That's what customer service is all about. I've tried many dishes, one of my personal favorites "John's Sloppy Sausage Sub" and loved them all. Try for yourself and see if you agree. I think you will!

I can't remember a restaurant where the owner goes table to table and has a genuine interest in his guest's satisfaction. Not alot of ambiance and no credit cards accepted.... so go to TGIF where they wear silly outfits with suspenders and buttons and give you crappy food with crappier service (but hey, at least they take credit cards and the place is lit up like every other sports bar/grille out there... yawn). I'll take superb Italian food and friendly staff with good prices any day over most of these other cookie cutter restaurants/bars. Keep up the good work John.
pizza in a barn
garlic rolls ok, but everything else sub-par and the restaurant is so unappealing you don't want to stay once you walk in
Good food mmmmmm!
I have grown up on Mario the Baker and was so happy when John opened his on place in Pembroke Pines so close to me. I did not have to travel anymore it is right around the corner. The food is inexpensive and good. The garlic rolls are to die for!
.
the pizza and the lasagna are both good. the garlic rolls are great. the prices cant be beat.
Good Food??
What good is cheap food when its not good food. The sauce tastes burned; the pasta is mush and the atmosphere is one step above prison chow hall! The reason they don't accept credit cards...IRS?
good
THE FOOD IS GOOD, THE SERVICE IS VERY GOOD. WHO CARES IF THEY DON'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS? IT'S NOT LIKE THE MEAL COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS
YUM-O
The garlic roll's are the best!! YUM-O Best pizza in town. Cheap-YUM-0 and fast service.
