Though Le Peep is in the heart of tourist country, it's really the locals who frequent this spotless little eatery located near the Universal Studios entrance. Plenty of business is conducted over bottomless cups of coffee, but this is a place to come hungry, with a vast breakfast menu that makes it hard to choose. Omelettes or eggs Benedict? Belgian waffles or a stack of pancakes? You'll find all the early bird classics, and some creative breakfast options, too.

There are dozens of egg creations and every one of them is delicious. For a light bite, try the breakfast banana split with bananas, strawberries, strawberry yogurt, blueberries and granola. But the biggest sellers are the skillet dishes, like the Gypsy -- potatoes, ham, onions, mushrooms, cheese and basted eggs.

If breakfast fare isn't your favorite, Le Peep also offers shakes and smoothies, pastas, salads, burgers and grilled paninis -- it's a safe bet that there's something on this menu to suit your fancy. Green's the theme at the restaurant, with vinyl booths the color of broccoli and bright lighting throughout assuring the atmosphere wakes you up if the strong coffee doesn't.

  • Cold food, coffee, atmosphere

I've visited this same restaurant a few years ago and wan't fond of the fair then but figured my tate buds were just off because of a hangover, or that it was just a bad menue choice. Now coming back again i realize that this restaurant is just no good. My decaf coffee was cold and after asking for a new pot which was still cold, i gave up and drank my dates regular hot pot. Our food was less then appetising. We both ordered omlettes off of the light menu (egg white only), mine with veggies and added avocado. His was the white lightning. When our food arived the toast was limp, cold and soggy with butter. Our omlettes were small and runny. And the worst part was the potatoes which seemed like they were precooked becaue they were so cold and soft, maybe they should have heated them up before plateing them, not to mention how salty and chewy they were. We are breakfast fanatics, its our favorite meal of the day, and seeing that this place is a national franchise specalizing in brunch i expected a lot more out of them. On another note the decor needs a major makeover, its old, sticky, and outdated! Your much better off eating at Mimi's or The Florida Waffle Shop right down the street in Millenia.

  • La Peepster

    Review rating : 4out of 5   ickmanrules - 04/04/2007

I've been dining at various La Peeps for years, starting in the Denver area before moving out here for school and have have typically positive dining experiences throughout.
The Orlando LaPeep was no different in the one visit I've paid it since living here. Decent fair at not astronomical prices was delivered in a very speedy fashion given the large number of tables my server was managing.
A improperly-discarded paper towel in the lavatory doesn't warrant a label of 'Filthy', and a sit-down breakfast for two under $15 dollars a person is reasonable in my mind. If you want $1.99 hit up downtown Vegas, if you want a greasebomb of a meal stop somewhere off the highway. But for tasty waffles and a strawberry banana smoothie that'll brighten your day (and give you some much-needed vitamin C), try the Orlando-area LaPeep.

MAYBE THESE OTHER FOLKS HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE BECAUSE OF THE WAITRESS MAYHAVE BEEN HAVING A BAD DAY. FOOD IS GREAT AND PRICE FOR TWO WITH TIP FOR US WAS ALMOST 25.00 ( NOT BAD ) FOR THE GUEST WHO COMPLAINED ABOUT THE PRICE THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY THE BURGER KING , DENNYS , PERKINS TYPE OF PEOPLE AND I THINK MAYBE THATS WHERE THEY BELONG.

  • Once Was Enough & Very Dirty

    Review rating : 1out of 5   haynesles - 01/10/2007

My husband and I planned an early Sunday morning trip just to have breakfast at Le Peep. We apid way too much for average food. Or was that below average ? All I remember is I paid a lot for our breakfast $24.00 includes tip) and I realized I we could have eaten a better breakfast at a truck stop or Waffle House, or I-HOP Restaurant for less money. I would recommend that the restaurant "get in the restaurant business "before they have to "get out of the restaurant business" . Granted there are a lot of one time customers to be had in Orlando, but once word gets around (and it does ) Le Peep will be just like many other restaurants in Orlando that opened with enthusiastic aspirations, but plummeted to their "timely death" by their own hand. FYI: The ladies restroom was the cleanest area I observed and it needed to be cleaned. I will not give this restaurant a second chance until the Health Dept. visits the site and it's evident they haven't inspected Le Peep for a while.

  • Not Worth the Effort

Maybe they knew when the people that were going to review them were coming because I have been there twice and as a local--they plain suck--it is well worth it to go over to First Watch on Sand Lake in Dr. Phillips---Le Peep has lousy service, bad food and clueless servers--sorry--you folks doing the ratings should not announce you are coming or are in the house--maybe the manager took care of you

  • Does not live to the hype...

    Review rating : 2out of 5   cougar629 - 08/30/2005

After reading so many recommendations, my husband and decided to give Le Peep a try. The food was mediocre and overpriced. The decor was very tacky and outdated. We were very disappointed with the whole experience and honestly felt a little out of place, we were at least 30 years younger than all the other diners. Sadly, I would have preferred Denny's over this. For a memorable breakfast, try TooJay's or Villa de Flora at Gaylord Palms hotel.

  • very disappointed

My daughter and I went to La Peep years ago and had a wonderful breakfast. Recently, I was excited to invite my out-of-town guests to have breakfast there. What a disappointment. Although they weren't busy, they were VERY slow taking our orders. Service throughout breakfast was poor. My french toast was ok - but nothing special. One friend's oatmeal and toast were cold. The other's eggs were not cooked properly. I won't be going back since I can find better food, better service, and lower prices elsewhere.

  • Very Disappointed

    Review rating : 1out of 5   sweetstrwberri88 - 03/22/2005

My family had been reading the reviews for this place and all were good, so we expected nothing less. When we got there, it was a bit crowded, but we had expected that. However, our server got some of our orders wrongs, and our food was cold. I asked for a side of apples to my french toast and they were cold, in a little plastic cup, which isn't very appealing or tasty. I ordered chocolate milk, and it tasted like plain milk. It took forever just to get a side of toast, and the lady who gave it to us said she couldn't find our table. Plus, the toast was stale. OUr food was cold, not fresh, and nobody could seem to find our table. Oh, and did I mention we had to get up and move to another table in the middle of the dining experience. I would not recommend this reataurant to anyone and its ratings are way too generous.

We used to go to the one in Illinois all the time. Once we moved here I was excited to learn there was one here, but we are from the Daytona area so we only get to go once in a while because it is over an hour away. But we haven't found anything like it up here. Tell someone to open one up here. We will be regulars. Love the Hobo Banquet!
