How many guys does it take to cook up the perfect patty? The answer's five in case you haven't already guessed and Orlando-area beefeaters are just beginning to learn what their D.C.-area counterparts have known for a long time: Five Guys makes the best burgers around, greasy hands down. Pay no heed to the antiseptic interior, walls of laudatory acclaim or peanut shells littering the floor. Just head to the line near the 50-lb bags of potatoes, peruse the minimalist menu and be ready to respond when the girl asks if you want fries with that (correct response: YES).
The never-frozen, freshly ground burgers come in four varietals -- regular, cheese, bacon and bacon-cheese -- and come standard with two juicy, medium-well patties, that is unless you order the 'little' version with just one, pshaw! Best of all, you can wedge those beef-filled buns with 15 available toppings, such as sauteed mushrooms and A-1 sauce, at no extra charge, but be careful: your monstrous manwich can quickly disintegrate into a sloppy pile of goopy goodness. The skin-on hand-cut fries, crisped in cholesterol-free peanut oil, cry for a splash of vinegar, though you can also get 'em Cajun-style. Grab a metal pail and dig into the giant bag of salted peanuts before picking up your oil-dotted paper bag of food, swelled by an extra shoveling of fries. Kosher hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches are also offered and, in case you're wondering, the name refers to founder Jerry Murrell and his four sons. -- Faiyaz Kara

GREAT BURGERS
Need I say more? Fresh beef, tons of toppings, great soft buns.
Add CommentExcellent burger, fair price
Five Guys delivers an excellent burger and fries at a resonable price. If you're looking for cheap taste, go elsewhere. I'd rather pay a dollar or 2 more than Backyard for a real burger experience at Five Guys. There is a reason they win the best burger award everywhere they open!
Don't know how this made the list.
I tried out this so highly rated & much talked about burger joint. It reminded me of the Varsity in Atlanta, only without the good food. The Burger was about as bland as I have ever had one and the fries I could have started my car with all the grease. I mean normally I am not one to complain but I had to take my food back up to counter where some unconcerned person looked offended at my dislike for their food. You can count me off their list of future customers. The joint shouldn't even be on the list. I will take Johnny's Fillin' Station or the Ale House over these folks any day.
