Most visitors to Bob Marley -- A Tribute to Freedom at CityWalk think the King of Reggae would approve of the house built in his name. From the tiled roof to the green wooden shutters, it's a replica of his home in Jamaica and members of the Marley family gave personal guidance throughout its design. The result is a laid-back atmosphere paying tribute to Marley and the idea of One Love -- the merging of social justice, racial harmony and the resilience of the human spirit -- that is the underlying theme throughout his music.
Deep issues aside, it's also a pretty sweet place to chill out with a Jamaican Red Stripe lager and take in some of the live entertainment on the open-air courtyard's gazebo stage.
Live reggae music is featured nightly, with well-known national acts rounding out a lineup of favorite local bands. It's the perfect music if you've got two left feet, as all the crowd seems to do motionwise is sway to the hypnotic rhythms. There are plenty of rumified drinks flowing, and Caribbean snacks on offer include jerk chicken-on-a-stick and Jamaican patties. After 10PM it's 21 and up only, and the mix includes local reggae fans as well as frolicking tourists looking to interpret One Love in their own, special way. -- Terry Ward

I LOVE BOB MARLEY'S ,ME AND MY FRIENDS HAVE BEEN GOING EVERY SAT NITE FATIHFULLY FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW. YOU GET TO SEE A LOT OF FAMILIAR FACES AND ITS EASY TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS.BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO HOOK UP WITH SOMEONE THAT MAYBE A PROBLEM.IT SEEMS MORE LIKE A "COUPLES" CLUB, BUT I STILL LOVE IT JUST THE SAME. EVERYONE SEEMS SO FRIENDLY. 1 LOVE :)

I love Marley and I would give this place five stars, however, it is not built well. It is tough to see the band if you are sitting at the tables. The big columns get in the way. Check out The DubKats at House of Blues on April 11th. 1/2 Long Beach Dub All Stars and 1/2 HepKats.
