Would you like to down a brewski at a bar that is ripe with history? Tobacco Road is Dade County's oldest saloon, having been awarded the first liquor license in the area's history. This legendary pub was a speakeasy during Prohibition, a hangout for Al Capone and his shady comrades during the '30s, and the target of many a police raid in the sinful '70s. Revitalized and revamped in 1982, this bar is now a favorite hangout for Sunshine State yuppies and hipsters.
Tobacco Road's live music roster is legendary and specifically focused on jazz and R&B; acts that have played here include B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Junior Washington, Sugar Pie and August Campbell. Local acts hit the stage nightly. In addition to a fully stocked bar, Tobacco Road offers a night menu with several tasty choices. The Road Burger is a simple yet popular choice, with five ounces of choice sirloin grilled with your choice of Swiss or cheddar cheese. Want something a bit more complicated? The Death Burger comes topped with a spicy combo of jalapeno chiles, grilled onions and pepper jack cheese. There's even a low-fat Garden Burger, made with fresh veggies, grains, cheeses, nuts and spices. From cheese fries, spicy buffalo wings and conch fritters to leafy salads and vegetarian nachos, you won't go hungry as you're tipping back your cocktails. -- Rebecca Stropoli

Best Burger Best Live Music Bar

By Far there is no comparison to Miami's Mecca for Live Music....TOBACCO ROAD. The burgers are great, along with every thing else on the menu. Better than burgers is the music...BEST IN MIAMI....and the Sound....under the loving, guided, and talented touch of Cosmo Ohms.(of CBGB"s Fame)...just the best around town or maybe the planet. Come down and give it a fair Hearing.

I'm on my way The name kind of sounds like Smoke which means that when I get there I will tolerate that cancerous S....t but will never go back JC
Brass Ring
Need to check out the Brass Ring in North Palm Beach like a Duffy's but better.
Tastless
This entire best of list is riddled with bad burger after bad burger. I really feel bad for those of you that have fallen victim to these bogus recommendations. So here ya go.....
1. Las Halles, Coral Gables
2. Capital Grille, Miami
3. River Oyster Bar, Miami
4. John Martins, Coral Gables
5. Waxy Oconnors, Ft Lauderdale.
Haven't been here in years since I worked for Dean Witter on Brickell, but by far it is the best hamburger. I keep telling my husband and surely one day we will make the drive from the Lakes.
great music/casual atmosphere

Tobacco Road generally has great bands, Iko Iko is awesome and there are lots of good original music bands appearing there all the time. The atmosphere is casual and the clientele is a good mix of young to aging, poor to rich, single to happily married which I am thanks to meeting my husband at THE ROAD
Forgetaboutit!
With the ghosts of Al Capone and Bugsy Segal still roaming the back rooms; coupled with the wonderful aroma of sizzling hamburgers; topped off with the "best darn" drinks in Miami will win over the hard to please. If that does'nt do it ... stick around for the music ... hey! forgetaboutit!
It's a bar!
Yes, it is a bar with live music...great live music. Good food, cold beer, fair price and nice people. Any problems?!?!? Talk to Joel. We are coming back!!!
Outstanding

This is indeed one of the few outstanding bars that can be called exactlly that, outstanding!!!
Not really

Good place for a burger type of food...better than fast food...yet not a great burger to be had there. Those who think so don't know burgers.
