so worth it!
On Valentine's Day 2-14-05 my husband and I visited Parrot Jungle Island. I first thought that the admission price was a bit high as we waited in line at the ticket counter. But upon entering this gorgeous manmade habitat, that first thought was wrong. Walking among beautiful plants, humongous waterfalls, happy well cared for animals and an absolutely pristine, relaxing environment made me fee in the Zen mode. This is definitely an escape from the real world. Every employee was welcoming and friendly, from the ticket taker to the hotdog vendor. We saw three amazing educational funny shows that just make you want to stand up, clap and say WOW. The whole place is spotlessly clean. I watched up close as baby orangutans were diapered and bottle fed, petted a baby alligator, and saw the largest reptile ( a ###) in the world. And there is so much more. The PJI experience was overwhelming, enlightening, uplifting and worth every penny.

Parrot Jungle moved from its previous location South of Miami to Watson Island. It is bigger and more expensive but not worth the money - at least at this point. Plantings are new and sparse and the parrot species are more diverse at local bird shops. There's a sign at the entrance to the parking garage that says "No Refunds". That should have been my first clue.
