The old, supposedly cursed spot at 1235 Washington Ave. is back in black, this time brought to you by the Opium Group's Milon Brothers. The new owners renamed the space Mansion and procured the services of top-shelf promoters Michael Capponi and Antonio Misuraca. This is the place that's supposed to save Washington Avenue from drabness. It very well could. Each week the club features signature signs of SoBe success: lots of celebrities, mobs of angry people who can't get in, and the occasional visit by the fire marshal. Inside, the venue takes after its name. It is cast and impressive, completely reinvented with wood and marble floors and airier use of space. The large dance hall remains much the same as it always has, except for 30-foot-tall columns and a set of spectacular arches. But the party, not the decor, is the main attraction. Capponi and Misuraca keep the big house theme in line with servers decked in French maid and butler outfits.

I ONLY ENJOY MANSION THURSDAYS NIGHTS WHEN THEY HAVE DJ CARDI SPINNING. HE BRINGS THE OLD SCHOOL SOUNDS OF HIP HOP AND FUNK BACK IN TAC. THURSDAY NIGHTS IS THE PLACE TO BE THERE. ITS LIKE A RETREAT OF ALL THE BEAUTIFUL LOCALS OF THE MIAMI AREA.

We went on a Saturday night, and happend to meet the right person earlier, so we were lucky enough to cut the line and not pay cover. Its worth the wait, though. Very big with with different areas to dance to suit your musical taste. We mostly stayed in the hip-hop room but the other side had big screens with dancers and some really cool lighting. Everyone was dressed very nice and we had a great time dancing all the way until 5:00 am. Very crowded but that just added to the atmosphere. Other than the long restroom lines, the only problem was that some of the bartenders were terrible, but there were enough bars that we just avoided the bad ones once we figured it out.

At Mansion, you feel like you are at a billionaire's party. Killer laser and lighting and amazing amazing space. There are different rooms for different music...hip hop and house.

I've been to this club in the 80's when it was called 1235, and it was one of the best clubs in Miami at the time. Now the dance floor looks like a parking lot for sofa's. Whats up with that?
So everyone can lay around and get drunk on way over priced bottles of liquor and Redbull?

Saturday night MANSION is literally the hottest night club in the country! Every table is filled with the society of Miami and international jet set. The women are beautiful and celebrities can be seen partying like rock stars. I can truly say Mr. Misuraca & Mr. Capponi are the most giving human beings in South Beach. Just to name a few they recently hosted events to raise funds for Red Cross Sunami victims (On a nightly basis these two guys walked around with tin cans and raised serious money Im sure from there opulent clientele), American cancer society, Bay Point School (which may I add Antonio has been involved with as a Honored Executive Host for the past 5 years and visits the school on his personal time) , Best Buddies, Multiple Sclorosis foundation and many more. Keep up the great work!

  • Beautiful Club

    Review rating : 4out of 5   planetmai03 - 06/07/2005

I wonder if this place actually gets full, it's huge. This has got to be the most beautiful club I've ever been to. There are nice lounge areas, mixed in with plenty of space for everyone. The one thing I didn't like is lack of a real dance floor. When I was there on a Thursday night, the only available dance area was in VIP. Everyone else just made a dance floor where they were.
