House of Blues has a grand reputation for concerts at its venues around the country, and the Orlando venue has a steady list of headliners. The venue is just large enough to accommodate major touring acts, but intimate enough so that wherever you're standing you're guaranteed a good view of the stage. But even more remarkable is the beautiful, mystical collection of folk art on the walls, in the garden, even on the ceiling of this Downtown Disney hot spot. From the outside it looks like a weather-beaten roadhouse, but inside is one of the country's largest public displays of folk art, with more than 6,000 original paintings and sculptures from 60 "untrained" creators, mainly African-American men and women from the rural south.

The theme is further carried out with the popular all-you-can-eat Gospel Sunday Brunch, held each Sunday morning with live gospel music in the cavernous music hall. Cajun food such as spicy shrimp and jambalaya are complemented by traditional breakfast fare including made-to-order omelets and pastries. And when there's not a live concert, guests stop by the adjacent restaurant for lunch or dinner, with Cajun specialties from po' boy sandwiches to spicy jambalaya and bread pudding. Take a stroll out back in the usually quiet Vodoo Garden, where you can order dinner and drinks on the back porch.

    The staff at house of blues are the best. The waiters/waitresses are attentitive, the bartenders are fair and the bouncers make an impressive presence. Of course some people would disagree, but that is because they have been removed from the establishement because they don't know how to have fun without being dicks.

    ALTHOUGH I AM THANKFUL WE HAVE THE HOB, IT DOES NOT MEAN I HAVE TO LIKE THE PLACE. YES THEY DO BRING US SOME GREAT BANDS BUT SOMETIMES THAT IS NOT ENOUGH. I DON'T LIKE FEELING MICKEY MOUSES PRESENCE WHEN I AM AT A CONCERT. YOU MUST ALSO KEEP AN I ON YOUR BARTENDER. THEY ARE KNOWN TO SHORT HAND THEIR CUSTOMERS AND WHEN YOU TRY TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK THE SECURITY WILL STRONGARM YOU OUT OF THE PLACE. MOST OF THE SECURITY GUARDS ARE THE BULLY, JOCK TYPE. I GUESS IF A GREAT BAND IS THERE YOU HAVE TO GO BUT OTHERWISE STICK TO THE HARD ROCK LIVE.

    HOB IS NOT WHAT IT IS ALL HYPED UP TO BE THIS PLACE HAS LOST APPROVAL RATINGS OVER THE YEARS I THINK THAT IT IS TIME FOR RENAVATION...RATHER SEE CONCERT AT HARDROCK

    This was a Magical Night ! The concert was great. Obie was excellent. What a talented young man! The sound was bit shaky but the atmosphere was very nice.

    NOT RECOMMENDED!!!Although the HOB has a great reputation ... believe me it is ONLY THAT: AN OLD REPUTATION that IS NO LONGER A REALITY. It is not a really good place for INTERNATIONALLY WELL RECOGNIZED Latin Music Concerts; as this one (Santa Rosa). It was a shame. This great artist was treated unrespectfully, when the management delayed the begining of the concert which was announced to begin at 9:00PM and began at 11:30PM. Also, to the "salsa" public who were there and payed to listen THE BEST OF THE "SALSA" GENDER WERE MADE TO HEAR OTHER NASTY RYTHMS AS"REAGAETON", "BACHATA"AND "MERENGUE".This was totally innapropriate. WHAT AN INSULT!!! Several couples near me asked management for a refund and left. Unfortunately I came from too far away and have to stay. I will sent a letter to the newspapers in Puerto Rico so other "salsa" followers don't waste their time and money,as this is the dream of many people: to see one of their well recognized singers at the HOB.

    I absolutely love the House of Blues.
    I've never been fortunate enough to see a concert but the restaurant / bar is just fantastic.
    We've eaten there loads of times and no matter where you're seated it's still good.
    We love the Blues and have never been disappointed by the bands on stage.
    The food is good too.
    We always go here when we come to Orlando.
    It's far better than their other one in Anaheim.

    The house of blues is a good venue to catch your favourite band. I was there on Sunday night to see the amazing 'Tragically Hip'. One of Canada's best keep secrets. When in Canada, 'our lady peace', 'Alanis Morrisette' and 'The Bare Naked Ladies' have opened up for them.
    Anyhow back to the venue. I found it very comfortable to what the band, the sound was very good as well. Plenty of beer and liquor at the bars. All and all it made for a great evening.
