Not Worth the Money or Time

I have visited this Park a few times over the past 36 years hoping to see an improvement and have been sorely disappointed each time. Yes, there are specimens of fish, a couple of sharks, and a killer whale with a few dolphins....... but certainly not worth the admission or the senseless walking about between shows to fill the time with exhibits that can be "taken in" in a few minutes.
The tank shows are ok but nothing to rave about. They can be viewed from the seats. The problem is that the shark feeding can't be seen from anywhere else but directly under the feeder which makes for boredom for most and excitement for a few. When you add the lack of manners and courtesy of the sight-seers who will bump and trample for a good vantage point...it doesn't make for an enjoyable experience.
They need to spend some of the money they are taking from the public on improving the facilities and giving those poor sea creatures (particularly the manatee and killer whale) bigger areas commensorate with their size. Tanks are barren and devoid of anything that looks remotely "natural". How sad to subject a gentle creaure to such *************.
The overwhelming feeling was one of pity for the sea creatures more than anything else.
Bathroom facilites are scant. Infrastructure needs overhauling...not just a facelift.Add CommentWE HAVE A LOT OF FUN........................................
We have a lot of fun for years we have been going to the M/S. Especially, during Easter, Halloween and Christmas. The kids have really enjoyed it thru out the years and they still due. Excellent entertainment during these special occasions and also the End of Year.
Great FUN !!!!
i HAVE BEEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES WITH A SUMMER CAMP I WORKED FOR AND IT WAS A JIM DANDY GREAT TIME. I LOVED IT THE KIDS LOVED IT . THE WATER WAS CLEAN THE PARK WAS CLEAN. NEVER ANY COMPLAINTS. IN FACT IM GOING AGAIN NEXT WEEK!!! CANT WAIT !!!!
boring
There was nothing exciting about it and it rained so much we left with only being there for 1 and a half hours. I was expecting a more joy filled time but that didn't seem to happen. Also it was my first time there so i had high expectations of it i got very bored; as most of it was closed due to the very heavy rain!
very disappointed
was really looking forward to going there with my 5 grandchildren, but after these reviews forgetaboutit. last time there was 1959 on my honeymoon and i loved it
blahh
i went 5 years ago so i really don't know how things are now but from what i'm readng it's bad
Avoid disappointment!
My children have had the opportunity to participate in another dolphin swim program (Bahamas) and the Seaquarium program was a costly ($800) disappointment. The staff that was to initially greet us was late (no fun to wait in the heat and humidity of a Miami summer), and while we all kept asking when the program was going to get started, only the gentleman at the front gate seemed to show the slightest bit of interest. When the staff finally arrived, we were given a quick tour of some of the Seaquarium venues. It was noisy and the guide spoke softly and so fast that she was hard to understand. The actual orientation seemed more focused on getting waivers signed and "pitching" the photo packages. By the time we finally got in the water, everything was rushed since the trainers wanted to get the program in, so the experience really consisted of riding a boogie board while being pushed by a dophin to one end of the "pool" and then being dragged back by a dolphin to the other end of the pool. There was very little interaction with the dolphins. The only people who could possible say that this was a great experience are people who have never had the opportunity to experience a "real" swim program! Pass on the Seqaurium and check out one of the other swim programs available!
Times have changed
Having been to the prak again, the last few years it just seems to be running down the tube. the first time i went when I was 5, 1996, was probably one of the last few years everything was running. I went nad their was a bunch of sharks an aquarium, you could see dolphins and whales up close in their aquarium, but now it's just the shows, the sharks seem to be gone, the manatee tank is largely rusted or something is growing at the bottom. you only see the animals at the shows and if you're not going to swim with the animals whihc is awesome but cost upwards of $300 then it is a waste of time and money. the prices have gone up each year yet the attractions and safety for both the customers and animals have severly cut down. P.S. lat time i went was summer of 2005.
SAVE YOUR MONEY
Funny, the first show was the Shark Feeding...There Were NO SHARKS to feed!..LOL but a bunch of pelicans!
So What, they offer a annual pass with regular paid admission(until 12/06) but two of the attractions are closed, have been since last year before the hurricane. It's the same same shows since I first went with my kid...5 years ago! Back then it was great, now it looks run down and needs a total make over. Something needs to be done about this place, especially with the ridiculous price they charge...Save your $30 bucks...I should had gone to Disney!
