Maude's has the best location in Gainesville; good coffee, although it's not always consistent. Unless you know someone who works there, the service is not usually friendly. Very spacious coffeehouse with two different indoor areas and a nice big patio.

Maude’s Classic Café, located in the heart of downtown Gainesville, offers a place to escape one’s everyday stresses.
The café offers a free-spirited atmosphere where people can go to get some of the best coffee and desserts in town. Maude’s also offers cappuccino, espresso, beer and wine.
Decorated with old record covers, postcards, board games and coffee paraphernalia, the café is definitely unique.
The board games are a great attribute of Maude’s because even though it only offers drinks and desserts, there is plenty of waiting time before you get your java or your slice of cake.
Some of the games at Maude’s include Sorry, Monopoly, Life and Scrabble. These games really take you back to your childhood.
People can relax in the café or outside in the courtyard. To have a romantic night of coffee and desserts, sitting in the courtyard under the stars would be a perfect setting.
Maude’s offers selections of the highest quality coffees from around the world and some of the most original desserts Gainesville has to offer.
One of the more popular espressos that patrons order is the Ferrari F-40. The menu says that the Ferrari F-40 is “caffeine jolts that throw you back in your seat.” A single shot of this espresso is only 94 cents.
The menu offers some of the most delicious desserts I have ever tasted. Maude’s very own Tony Bennet is a tiramisu cake with mascarpone cheese and white and semi-sweet chocolate presented on a dish soaked in raspberry sauce.
You might not be able to experience desserts like the ones available at Maude’s at any other coffee shop in town, especially the Michael Jackson, which the menu says is the “ever-changing special.”
Customers can either order at the counter or sit at a table and wait for a server. Since you can sit indoors and outdoors, the waiters are not that attentive to when people walk in and out.
This makes the service at Maude’s adequate. If you are in no rush and just want to listen to classic music and relax, then Maude’s Classic Café is the coffee destination for you.
