There really is a Wan family, and their Fort Lauderdale venue is a neighborhood fave for tasty Chinese at moderate prices. Not quite Chinese on the cheap, Christina Wan's dinner entrees come in at around $12 - $13. Serving up Mandarin, Szechuan and Cantonese cuisine, the restaurant offers a lengthy menu that includes classics (sweet and sour chicken), a touch of Asian gourmet (ginger duck, a house specialty) and plenty of vegetarian options. The vibe here is casual as you might think from the strip-mall storefront, and there's takeout and delivery for those offsite or on the go.

We've been going to Christina's family's restaurants for years. Always great food, always great service. Congratulations on a well-deserved place on the list.

Dim sum and sizzling soups are best bets-- inconsistency has plagued this location for some time

I've been to this restaurant 4 or 5 times. The food I found consistently fair at best. Smaller portions and typical Chinese restaurant fare. Nothing that would separate it from another Chinese restaurant. Nice atmosphere and the service was good. I find PF Changs to have a higher quality product and the service is equally good. You just have to fight the crowds at PF Changs while Wan's doesn't draw the crowds. Still, not my pick for an "authentic" experience and the food I would rate a 5 or 6 at best. I also find the MSG a big problem as my wife and I have gotten headaches after every meal. PF Changs, on the other hand claims that they do not use MSG in any of their dishes.
