You make your way up the 700-plus feet of the Westin Peachtree Plaza knowing your eyes are about to be graced upon something special. But the majestic views of the capital of the south found in the slowly rotating restaurant are more awe-inspiring than anything you could have imaged from the elevator. Though a somewhat blah color scheme of navy and gold lessen the overall feel a tad, the picture perfect panoramic perspectives from your seat could make McDonald's Playland look like something from a Wadsworth sonnet. It's poetry -- with a kitchen attached to it.
And fittingly, you'll be at a loss for words upon the arrival of most dishes from the Sun Dial's modern American menu. Bland, uneven meals simply would not complement the romantic air very well. So you can enjoy the beef tenderloin with wild mushrooms or the seared North Georgia Mountain trout with a celery root puree as you look over the impressive skyline. For those of you whom want to take in the beauty of the skyline during the daytime, you can visit during their Sunday brunch and enjoy such things as Eggs Benedict with shaved corned beef or marscapone ravioli in a roasted pumpkin sauce. The beautiful plating and presentation -- not to mention the sweet live jazz in the background -- won't totally divert your gaze from the windows, but at least it gives you something else to appreciate when you turn your head.

The Sundial is one of the things we miss most about living in the Atlanta area. While living there, any time we wanted a romantic evening out or had out of town guests we wanted to treat to a special dinner, this was our place! Fantastic views, awesome sunsets, great food....a wonderful dining experience. It is expensive, but it's well worth splurging to be able to enjoy such a unique restaurant. Elegant...memorable!
Wonderful
The food and service are wonderful. The best time to go is at sunset to get the best view.
