Although the originals are long gone, the Southwest Freeway location of Prince's Hamburgers pays tribute to its drive-in parents. Fun decor and fabulous food keep locals and out-of-towners coming back for a taste of '50s-style diner fare. Decorated to inspire memories of Elvis and the Big Bopper, Prince's gives guests plenty of room to reminisce. Cushy booths line the walls and the sounds of oldies-but-goodies fill the air. Diners can enjoy the original Prince's hamburger (complete with secret sauce), hot dogs, fries and homemade lemonade, in addition to some modern diner fare. Youngsters love the colorful interior and kid-friendly menu, while area working stiffs appreciate the opportunity to enjoy a juicy burger in a lighthearted environment. The staff is friendly, fast and knowledgeable, and there is rarely a lengthy wait. -- Amy Kerr

I been to the 11460-Fuqua 3 times if I did not like there food or drinks I would not be going tonight. I loved Prince`s as a kid here in pasadena, and my kids love Prince`s now. PS. I thought they were all gone. I was happy that my oldes son found them! 5-9-09.

There was a time when Prince's Burgers were good. Went there last month and the burger was nothing more than a warmed up burger. My order came out in 3 minutes and it was not busy.. Told me this stuff is all precooked and just assembled. No taste at all + prices are high. The best burger in town is at the strangest place-- The original SPECS downtown has a deli in the back. The best burger in Houston you will find. What taste ! And very low prices for what you get.

  • Different hamburgers

    Review rating : 4out of 5   patrckball - 03/18/2007

There ARE different kinds of hamburgers, but these are the ones I liked in the 40's & 50's when it was Prince's Drive-In's. They are different, especially the "original," and still very good. Their best treats are the malts/shake's, mug root beer and onion rings. Service is the worst at the SW Freeway location; best at the 9535 Katy Freeway location. Third location is 11460 Fuqua @ Gulf Freeway, but I have not eaten there.

I remember the original Princess Drive In. People, this is a close as your going get to the original burger. Personally, I think they're GREAT!
