Despite its location among Central Avenue's high class clubs and boutiques, this bar and grill for the working class maintains its unpretentious nature. The simple decor and the welcoming but gritty clientele are not what you'd expect given the location, but then again, that's what gives it charm. On any given afternoon, you can anticipate a little Patsy Cline on the jukebox and slow-moving, beer-filled patrons by the bar.
Cheap is the name of the game here -- drinks are significantly cheaper than neighboring bars and most patrons make no bones about being here for one thing and one thing only, stiff drinks. But behind every stiff drink is a friendly personality that keeps the conversation interesting. Bar regulars swear they'd go nowhere else, and the bartenders must feel the same -- many have worked here for ten years or more. prdynpinc - 06/04/2005You know those bars that you always hear about......"how great they were" or "how everybody there knows you"...........well MASTRYS is that type of place. Within one night you will see it all, every walk of life, LITTERALly...... thats what so great about it.
the mood is chill, the drinks are cheap( and strong) and the service is great. I could not think of a better place to chill out or get crazy at. What ever you desire you can find it at mastry'sone of the sweetest bars ever
trexjs78 - 01/18/2005mastry's bar is a great place to get a drink and chill with your friends or even to make new ones. it is very relaxed inside and that adds to the charm. the bar backs up to jannus landing so a lot of people will be out on the deck out bak listening to what ever concert is going on, sure beats paying high prices to watch a show. the drinks a cheap and loaded with the good stuff. and the dart board works well. the huge fish over the bar tells you what you are getting in to. this bar is one of the places i like to go and hang out. makes sure you check it out as well
