Here at the Rock Room, if you don't know you're having a hot time while listening to the bands (Saturdays) or belting out your favorite karaoke tunes (Fridays), just take a look at the wall: It's illuminated by reddish-orange neon "flames." Then, come back Wednesday to check out another hot event: the weekly poker tourney.

Under new ownership, the former Warsaw Tavern has been spruced up. In addition to the new neon effects on the wall, there's more seating, a touch-screen jukebox with hundreds of tunes, and a plasma TV for Steelers season. The menu features bar fare and Pittsburgh favorites, including the Rockwich, a sandwich of coleslaw and fries on a bun with steak, ham or capicola.

Some things, however, remain the same. The meals are inexpensive, with evening specials that include 20-cent wings and 25-cent pierogies, daily happy-hour drink deals. Prices for regular draft start at $1.25, and mixed drinks start at $2.50. And no dive would be complete without a dartboard, a pool table and electronic games are on hand for those wishing to test their mettle.
