Besides their world famous burgers and beer, the Poplar Lounge is known for being the kind of place you can hide out in for hours. Come in for a cold one after work, and the next thing you know, it's midnight. With its low-down dingy charm that's straight out of a movie, the bar is home to many of Memphis' favorite musicians, including ZZ Top, who once shot a music video here. Despite the change in locale, Poplar is still the smoky little dive it's always been, making it the perfect place for locals and out-of-towners seeking an unforgettable Memphis experience. -- Nancy Apple

    I used to watch Don McMinn there when it was on the other side of the street. At that time it was a FUN bar to go to. I don't know any more. The times they are a changing.

    The stars are here at Lounge. Best kept BBQ secret in Memphis is Red Man's ribs...sold only on Saturday...SShhh, don't tell everyone....tell him Bonzo said to make you one of his famous Lemon Drops to wash down the BBQ. All the girls here are friendly and like to hang out w/ the stars....make sure you have plenty of "do nothin" time on your hands 'cause u won't want to leave the Lounge. Coolest midtown bar...yes they have liquor too. C U There :-))
