Yes, you get the occasional wise guy who still yells Norm! when a buddy walks in, but no one is likely to confuse this Cheers with the one owned by Sam Malone. Its not a college hangout either, despite being located within walking distance of UNLV. The crowd consists mainly of working-class locals who stop in for a beer, a few hands of video poker, or a game of pool after punching the time clock. The burgers and other bar food staples are a step up from the fast food joints that surround Cheers Maryland Parkway and Harmon location, and if you throw enough quarters into the poker machines theyll comp your drinks. Be wary of taking on any of the regulars at 9-ball, however a lot of these guys shoot lights out. David Hofstede
