More and more of the in-the-know clubbers are heading south of downtown in search of something new and different. One of the spots taking advantage of this migration is Lee Harvey's. It's nothing special to look at, with its weathered wood paneled walls and dusty neon beer signs, but Dallas hipsters have taken to the vast outdoor space complete with picnic tables and the much sought after bonfire pit area. Another reason Lee Harvey's is packing 'em in is their "Dog Day Afternoons." Every Sunday, the bar opens at 3PM and the dog park dissidents start filing in with Rover in tow. The kitchen, which serves a variety of items including a half-pound burger, panini sandwiches and salads, is open Tuesday through Friday until 10PM. The laid back atmosphere underscores everything at Lee Harvey's and reminds us that we should "never judge a book by its cover."

Great Burgers
The place is a must see. The very definition of laid back and a great venue to enjoy some live music. Fire pits, dogs on the patio and a great downtown view in a neighborhood MOST of Dallas never visit make going to Lee Harvey's almost a mini vacation. My only complaint is that they use off-brand cola mixers in their drinks. I now stick with Shiner Bock, which is always cold! Seriously, try the burgers and salads! Remarkable food for such a casual setting.

I was very disappointed to find the place closed before 4pm on a Saturday but I had to go back on Sunday just to visit a place that has the balls to take this name in Dallas.
No beers on tap & the PBR in-a-can is cool, at best. The bloody marys were really good & I guess I should've just stuck with those.
Sunday includes dogs running around the yard so you'll need to be into that. It was a fairly nice day so nobody sat inside. With that, I'd have to take away from the dive bar grouping because you don't get the same kind of banter.
The service was excellent. I didn't eat there but it sure smelled really good & just about every table except ours ordered food so it's probably good enough.
It's a must see so get over there if you have the chance.
