Most of New Orleans' revered neighborhood restaurants serve red beans and rice, fried seafood and meats smothered in down-home gravies. How a place serving delicate crepes found its niche here is anyone's guess. The beloved creperie's sexy vibe is pure New Orleans, and the clientele is at least 90 percent local on any given night. By far the most talked-about dish is moules frites: mussels steamed in a garlicky white-wine broth and served with thin, crisp french fries. La Crepe Nanou originally opened as a creperie, however, and still offers a slew of crepes, both savory and sweet. The ratatouille and hazelnut fillings are among the most popular.
La Crepe Nanou takes no reservations, so make sure you're dressed for a wait. The outdoor dining area is gorgeous in nice weather and might be your best option on weekends when the wait inside can exceed an hour. The French-heavy wine list will keep oenophiles occupied. Service was slow, the crepe was cold by the time they served it. The atmosphers was too noisy, and the waiter brought me the bill for someone elses's table.

A wonderful "uptown casual" bistro in a neighborhood that scores high in good restaurants. Upperline, Gautreau's, Kyoto and Vaquares are all steps away. What an area to live in. No wonderful it is hard to keep a slim waisteline! The French fries are the most French in town are are fantastic!

I loved my dinner. I ordered the special which included cream of asparagus soup, wild greens salad with blue cheese, sauteed amberjack with crawfish topping and sorbet for dessert for only $26.95 my husband ordered the mussels which I don't eat but do like the mariniere (spelling?) as a soup and he had Crepe Marron, which is to die for. My 3 y.o. son loved his frites and the french bread and butter. He also had a fresh fruit salad topped with whip cream for dessert.
