  • Steak swimming in butter

    Review rating : 2out of 5   CapitolLobbyist - 10/09/2008

Still trying to figure out who thought dunking a perfectly good steak in a swimming pool full of butter was a good idea? Don't get me wrong, the steaks are fine, just ask for them dry and you'll be amazed the difference. The dining room at the Connecticut Avenue location is a little down in the dumps these days.......coulkd use a facelift.

  • Just OK

    Review rating : 3out of 5   Wikershine - 07/10/2008

No doubt, the food was good, but I'll take a Lone Star steak anyday and be able to afford to go more often. Again, food was good, but not worth $300 for 2 (yes, included a bottle of so-so wine and 2 mixed drinks).

  • Where the Beef?

    Review rating : 1out of 5   Changeisgood726 - 06/18/2008

So much hype, but honestly I was very disappointed and with the average cost per person being $100 I should have been wowed. We dined at the Fairfax location. The service was excellent but with the exception of my wonderful steak the food left a lot to be desired. The appetizers were forgettable, veggies quit bland and my apple tart dessert tasted like old comforter down with vanilla ice cream. My brother sent his very salty entree back and my Mom's steak although quit large lacked seasoning. Their key lime pie, which my Mom ordered was exceptionally good and I don't even like that flavor of pie. My brother told me the Baltimore location is a thousand times better so I may give Ruth's one more try.

  • Never disapointed

    Review rating : 5out of 5   Texlibred - 06/11/2008

No matter where in the US, we always look for a Ruth Chris. I have never been disapointed with our steak, service, etc...We've been in Europe for 7 years and I can not wait to go back (which will be DC) and it will be the first place we will go for a nice meal.

  • I Love Ruth's Chris in Bethesda, Md.!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   RunaMarthn - 06/11/2008

This review is for the location in Bethesda, Md., not the DC one. My wife and I have been going here for 10 years regularly and have never been disappointed. I love the sizzling hot plate that the steaks are served on since they keep the food hot. I also love the creamed spinach and the garlic mashed potatoes. The creme brulee is an excellent dessert choice. We have eaten at a number of the Ruth's locations around the USA and have generally always had good meals. By contrast, we have eaten at a number of Morton's Steak Houses and have never been satisfied with the food.
