The food is delicious, healthful--and, vegetarian friends can eat there and no one feels deprived. Service is friendly and unobtrusive. We mainly go to the two Arlington locations. Occasionally they have belly dancers for entertainment as well.

Dear Bettypg, the reason the restaurant does not accept reservations after 6:30 is quite the opposite of what you think. Reservations are NOT recommended business. They may show up late, they may show up incomplete, thus holding up the dining room. And if they give your table away had you not shown up on time, that would be really infuriating. So the wisest decision is for the restaurant not to put itself and its guests in such a predicament, and by doing so, avoiding disgruntling customers, and at the same time, do what's best for business. Now go to class...

Warning to large groups!!! While the food here is great, they're reservation policy is not customer friendly. We recently tried to make a reservation for 8 people to celebrate a birthday. We were told that their policy is not to take reservations for large groups after 6:30. The person on the phone indicated that they would accomodate walk in parties of all sizes, but not reservations (?????). I cannot imagine why a restaurant would turn away guranteed business. Unfortunately, this restaurant is concerned about their own "policies" verses their customer service. We will not be back.

This is by far the best in DC and the best of all the Lebanese Taverna locations. Service is great, staff is friendly. Try to dine in the back room, by far the closest to Lebanon you will get in DC!!! I am a long time patron and true believer. If you really want to dine like a true Lebanese order the Grand Mezza. It is only polite to order way too much food.

I have to give it five stars for taste quality and value. The raw meat Kibbe Naye is outstanding in taste and beautifully presented, and copious to boot. This ground meat and cracked wheat appetizer is raw and tastes mildly sweet with a luscious creamy mouth feel. The generous portion is accompanied by a splendid condiment selection of pickled cucumbers, turnips (try it), marinated onions, garlic mayonnaise, and tomatoes. The whole fish was meaty and the onion relish tasteful if needing a bit of hot pepper. The Eggplant Fateh is yoghurt, pine nuts, chick peas, toated bread and makes for a creamy vegetarian entree. You'll get fresh piping hot Arabic pita bread to sop it all up. Don't miss the Um Ali dessert of bread pudding with raisins almonds and god knows what. Also, try the Lebanese wines especially the reds, some like the Chateau Musar are ranked world class by wine enthusiast publications. I've been to the DC and Pentagon location and I prefer the latter for the patio.
