Do you want to spend a small fortune on food that is blandless just to watch the trendy herd (who have no idea what good food is about) look cool trying to imitate Johnny Rotton (who would have hated the whole lot of them). Miss this place. Chaos

Went last night, had a mediocre dinner. The service was fine, the presentation of the food was nice, but the actual flavoring of the food was lacking. Trying too hard to be unique, most of the dishes had flavors that cancelled each other out. My rack of lamb recipe is ten times more delicious than theirs and at a fraction of the price.

Nice to go once, but not planning on returning.

Looks are Deceiving

The architecture and design of this restaurant is beautiful but the food and service is mediocre, unrefined, and disappointing. We went to the restaurant expecting an interesting and eclectic array of flavors and food. Instead we left disappointed and hungry. At first glance the restaurant is well designed and the coloring is fantastic. This all hides the fact that the food and service are poorly timed and mediocre. We waited over 30 minutes for our server to approach us after being sat. We then waited on our first course. This was served fairly quickly then we waited over an hour for our main entree to arrive. During this time our waiter went MIA and we were left neglected. My spiced strip of beef was almost all fat and my husband's Salmon was not fresh and it was overcooked and very slimy. After dining across the globe this place is a sour disappointment with a high price tag in the end. The product is not worth the price and the establishment tries to hard to cater to some sort of "trendy" restaurant crowd. What is even more disappointing is most food critics sing the praises of Indebleu and I don't understand this.

Excellent Restaurant

My wife and I went to IndeBleu for our Anniversary. 2nd year in a row we've done that. It's such a cool place, more worthy of South Beach Florida or Beverly Hills than Washington, DC - but we're glad it's in our town. The cumin-scented scallops are incredible -- and I had the tenderloin which was just perfect -- my wife had the Rockfish which she loved. The naan bread is absolutely to die for. Finish it off with the Pear Crumb dessert. The service was extremely attentive, the food was some of the best in DC and the decor is very very nice.

Finally a restaurant in this town that offers something that is worthy of NYC. This town is nothing but bad steak houses, restaurants that serve eight kinds of rockfish and pizza/burger places. DC is the Toledo of fine dining. Now, with IndeBleu there is something to get excited about. The service was spectacular. Our waiter produced a fabulous french wine at a good price. Oysters with jalapeno shaved ice were divine. The Tandoori Rack of Lamb with mojito sauce was out of this world. Finally, I don't have to leave town to get a great and unique meal.

Birthday Disappointment

My friend and I had gone to Indebleu for Restaurant Week and it was expensive then for what we ate (so remember that next time). A few weeks ago a group of 10 of us went there to celebrate a friend's birthday and were told at first we could sit in the lounge but then were told it was all reserved (we never saw the people show up that it was reserved for). We sat around waiting for the manager to tell us where we could sit but kept getting ignored. Other shades of people entered the restaurant/bar/lounge and were greeted warmly. We were ignored. I will never step foot in their restaurant again as I feel we are in the year 2006 and every paying customer should be treated the same. We left their restaurant after sitting and standing for an hour waiting on the management's decision. We took our party down the street to Zengo (an Asian/Latino fusion restaurant/bar/lounge) where everyone was very friendly and pleasant. We sat in the lounge ate, drank and had a great time.

Valentine Day Disappointment

I can truly say that I was quite impressed upon entry into Indeblue Restaurant on Valentines Day; however, I left the Restaurant in dismay and hungry. Overall, the Restaurant is lacking. For $75 each, the food portions were about the size of a HALF deck of cards and the service was lousy. It took about 30 minutes to receive the appetizer and about another 45 minutes to receive the next serving. Even though the food was somewhat pleasing to the eye, I would not recommend this Restaurant, due its lack of customer service for its patrons.

Never Again....

The drinks were great, the downstairs bar decor and drink menu look cool. BUT... BUT.... the food is horrible, you get semi-indian food at French portions, prices and service. Bottom-line, if you go, go because you want to send and lot of money on bad food and overpriced drinks. The best time is to go during restaurant week when it only costs $30 for a three course meal.

Is this a club or a fine dining restaurant. After you walk through a throng of rowdy kids and get to your table, the experience is down hill from there. Service is HORRIBLE. The food was good, but I won't go back because they're so rude!
