Good food, worst service in DC

We've been to Curry Club 3 times in the past 6 months. The service was atrocious on our first trip, but the food was good enough to merit a second visit. We recently returned, and had quite possibly the worst, surliest service I've ever experienced in a restaurant - seriously, walk-out level nastiness. Plus, the decor is a little passe, and it's neither a particular inviting nor comfortable dining space. I'd recommend trying any place else before resorting to this. We won't be back!!
Add CommentWonderful evening

We had a wonderful evening here. The service was warm, the food was excellent. The owner treated us like old friends. It's more English-style Indian food. It is a minimalist atmosphere, but comfortable. Just a good experience all around.
Flunking Fusion

As South Asians and general
fusion connoisseurs, Curry
Club proved to be a
tremendous let-down. This
much-hyped trendy
Georgetown eatery failed on all
fronts. The minimalist decor
isnÂt so much chic as it is cold.
Service follows likewise. Our
server didnÂt know the first
thing about Indian cuisine,
including the fact that naan is
used to consume curryÂ
furthermore the service was
distant and detached. The
food was average at best, and
attempts at innovating on
traditional Indian fare led to
bland and unimaginative
culinary compositions. This
pricy desi-wannabe clearly
fails on the price-quality ratio.
