Chef/owner Mark Militello, a member of the original Mango Gang responsible for founding the Floribbean/New World cuisine movement, has struck South Beach gold with his eponymous eatery. This spot is quietly trendy but more than anything else, it's a knockout on the taste buds. Located in the basement, so to speak, of the chic and charming Hotel Nash, Mark's South Beach is the antithesis of your terminally trendy eatery -- classy and chic, yes, but not at all scene-y.
A fantastic fusion of New World and Mediterranean flavors, Mark's nightly changing menu is both a marvel and an indecisive person's worst nightmare. If presented with a choice between a roasted rack of lamb with semolina gnocchi; crispy skin yellowtail snapper with oysters and pea-asparagus risotto; seared rare tuna with foie gras butter melted into French lentils; or tortelloni stuffed with arugula and ricotta along with truffled artichoke and pecorino puree -- now that's a tough call. But even the person who always suffers from an acute sense of order envy shouldn't be disappointed, as everything that's churned out of the open kitchen here is prepared with an overgenerous amount of culinary excellence.

Who monitors this site????? Marks has been closed almost a year now. Althought the new resturant that replaced Marks is equally good with a similar menu.
