You half expect Nicole Kidman's Satine to descend from the ceiling on a trapeze at this delightful can-can club straight out of 'Moulin Rouge.' The lush decor and waitresses who double as live can-can dancers create a wonderfully theatrical night out in Pioneer Square. While most of the food is indifferently prepared, the cocktails are as colorful and delicious as the surrounding decor. Don't miss Thursday's ''Bingo Night.'' A truly unique nightclub experience.

The Can Can is a No No
Preview
My group of sixteen made reservations at the Can Can for New Years over a month in advance of their New Years Eve Masquerade event after reading several positive performance reviews in The Stranger and Seattle Weekly. We had heard the food left much to be desired, so we didnÂt make dinner plans there. Instead, we made sure to ask if there was room for a group our size (which we later found there wasnÂt), and were assured everything would be fine for drinks and performance. We were first told that we could pay the cover individually and keep separate drink tabs upon making the reservation. Then they changed their tune, and the cover price, a week or two before the event. They raised the cover by $10 and told us we had to keep it to one credit card, prepaid. By the time they made the change it was too late to make a new reservation. To top it off they called us two days before the event to change our reservation time from 9PM to 9:30PM because they were afraid our table wouldnÂt be readyÂ
The Event  And our table wasnÂt ready. In fact, despite our early reservation, early $400 payment, and timely arrival at 9:30  as asked  the table wasnÂt ready until 11PM! Sixteen people waited around in the "foyer" of their tiny, basement-level, dungeon for nearly two hours for our table on New Years Eve. When we asked what the story was the manager replied that the table ahead of us was "refusing to leave." To which my boyfriend replied, "And you didnÂt tell them ahead of time that there were other reservations tonight?" Then, when the "VIP" section seating that we thought we had reserved finally became available, we could hardly see the stage. First drinks served? 11:30 PM.
The Best Part
The show was awful. AWFUL. From my standing place in the corner of the bar  where our "VIP" table was  I could clearly make the assessment that a better burlesque performance would be had at the Lusty Lady.Comments(0)|Add Comment
