A bowling alley with a dress code? Where you can nosh on tomato and cheese smores, and Thai pizza with bean sprouts? And where the icy pitchers are more likely to be filled with some puckery, fruited-up libation than frothy Coors? Whoa, buddy, this aint your fathers bowling alley. (If it is, you have one hip old man.) The ONLY thing that ties Lucky Strike to those ill-maintained, mass-consumption lanes is, well, the bowling. But instead of gray plastic chairs, ghastly overhead lights and moldy oldies blaring from static-polluted speakers, here you can assault the pins in an atmosphere dripping with very hip retro chic. More of a lounge that just happens to have bowling and, by the way, billiards, Philadelphias Lucky Strike brings with it all the trappings that the Hollywood (where else?)-based chain has brought to its locations around the country: cool art, comfy seating, hard wood and lots of neon. The menu -- a funky mix of jazzed-up comfort foods and new takes on old standbys -- beats the greasy fries and soggy wings offered on most bowling alley menus hands down; and the drinks are as fun as they come: Cosmo Bubbles or a Jumpin Jolly Rancher, anyone? Be warned: There is a dress (and conduct) code at Lucky Strike. Dress for the club, and you should be OK. To be sure, check the Web site. Also, from 5-9PM, anyone under 21 must be accompanied by an adult; and after 9PM, you have to be 21 or older to get in.

I loved it!
Overall it is very nice. The food is good, the drinks are good (Especially the California Dreamin', it's a green colored Long Island Iced Tea with Sprite instead of Coke) and the whole atmosphere is nice. The huge plasma televisions and projectors are great for sports fans. The DJ is great (at least when I went, a mix of pop and old-shool hip-hop) and the lanes are cool ( alittle slick if you're a real bowler who spins your ball). Overall I had a ball.
