You wouldn't expect a former post-Civil War horse livery to make a name for itself as a happening happy-hour haven, but the Babylon Carriage House has transcended its stable days (and short stint as an auto repair shop) to offer delectable Continental cuisine and a hip bar scene. Even though you'll be dining on contemporary cuisine, you won't be able to escape the carriage house's history, as evidenced by the eatery's accoutrements from olden times, including a sepia-toned daguerreotype of Babylon's Times Square, circa 1870. Begin with a creative starter such as a Thai calamari bowl or crab cakes with chipotle lime aioli, before galloping into the main gastronomical arena, including elaborately prepared fresh seafood, steak, free-range chicken, rack of lamb, pasta and specialty salads. Jockey for a spot after your meal to enjoy the restaurant's revolving roster of live entertainment, including jazz on Thursdays, classic DJ dance music on Fridays, and the best of '60s, '70s and '80s music on Saturdays.

carriage house
the food was very good; the service not so much.... service was too much oration, not enough action; no bib or lobster cracker offered, glass of wine forgotton and not served with dinner, no fresh pepper or cheese offered with salad etc...
Expensive, delicious food -- we will probably return and try it againComments(0)|Add Commentit is what it is
The over all atmosphere of the main floor is nice. The patio is great for those beautiful sunny day. However, the bar scene is truly a meat market ( as most bars are ). Its a bar ! what do you expect. It is what YOU make it.
No good.
Foods good but the bar scene is retarded. Its all a bunch of meat heads flexing and staring at each other.
not honest
Went to their psychic show on tues. 8/12/08. $60.00 a head. While the food was good, it was buffett style, serve yourself. Not a big selection of food, either. Waiter brought us 2 sodas each, then handed us a bill with a 18% SERVICE CHARGE/GRATUITY added on [$35.00 extra]. When I questioned our waiter, he said he didn't get any of it. Asked to see a manager who never came to our table. Despite the good food, we will NOT be returning to this resturant again.
