For more than 40 years, the unique blend of mussels, feather bowling and specialty beers has defined The Cadieux Cafe as the premiere Belgian bar/restaurant in Detroit. Owned by the Devos family, old and young come together for an explosion of food, music and sport all year round. Holding proudly to its colorful beginning as a speakeasy, The Cadieux continues to be a center of activity for the local Belgian community and a home for a motley combo of sports -- bicycling, archery, pigeon racing and feather bowling.
With tables lining up in the style of an Old World beer hall, it's not odd to feel like you're part of a massive family here. Pitchers of lager sit like proxy centerpieces in the center of most tables, while Belgium's signature urinating statue, Mannekin-Pis, stands doing his business in the corner. At the opposite side of the room, regulars belly up to the bar for a chat with amicable owner, Ron Devos, who's always on tap. Treat your date to some steamed mussels, a round of feather bowling and a good Belgian brew, and you'll at least look like you know what you're doing.

Order the Mussels!
I love the place and the mussels! The Waitresses are friendly.
The Barmaid who worked on Friday during Superbowl 2006 weekend needs an attitude adjustment. She was not friendly at all. She acted as if she was doing us a great favor, she was very rude. We ended up moving to a table simply to get away from her.Comments(0)|Add Commentthe RAYMAN
